@flat hearth assuming this is your first time levling through the msq, you'll probably be happy for the exp boost once you hit around lvls 48-55 etc. It slows down more notably from then on

is high level crafting really optimal to make gil? i've tried selling the crafts/mats that have decently high purchase rate but all the master recipe gear sells for like 90-100k max and people seem to buy like only 5-6 mats at a time and even some of the master recipe ones are only going for 1k-2k

@wind kindle Just in case it comes up, "dailies" are often more generally a common lingo type gaming term, especially in multiplayer or mobile/f2p games- basically just refers to anything that you can only do a certain amount of times per day, but have a great enough reward that you do them, well, daily. For FFXIV that's most majorly beast tribes and the roulletes (roulletes only have an exp boost once per day), but you could very well see the term reference other things, especially in other games

Tell people: "Hey i'm new, but dont mind" when you join the group - if you dont stand in orange shit, non of the instance till 50 should be a problem, most of the people can tell you about 1-2 mechanics if needed. And as a Marauder: Tomahawk (ranged abilty) has a increased aggro bonus, its hard like a second taunt button.

I am myself new to the game and had no problems. If you die, use the chat. In the last ~50 runs i had about 2 moments we died, and i didn't know why. Party explained it well.

'When can I get my first mount?'

The quest that allows you to use mounts, 'My Little Chocobo' is unlocked by completing the level 20 main story quest 'The Company You Keep'. The quest is located at the Grand Company base you chose and you'll need to buy the Chocobo Issuance from your Grand Company Quartermaster. You can get the 200 needed Grand Company seals by doing the main story quest that comes after 'The Company You Keep'.

'Are there any differences between mounts?'

Besides looks, all mounts are the same speed along with being able to fly in the expansion zones. Some mounts allow multiple people to ride at once.

'Can I make my mount faster?'

Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

I may be thinking about it wrong. I know that I get a free use of either buff ability when the total amount of damage prevention from TBN is exceeded. What I mean by man positive and negative is comparing the 3k Mana saved by a free ability effectively saving Mana because it wasn't spent. Is it still useful to get that free proc even if you give an ally the damage shield?

"What is the Glamour Dresser?"

The Glamour Dresser allows you to glamour an entire set of equipment at once when in a city or town. You can find the dresser in your inn room at any of the Adventurer's guilds.

"How do I use it?"

In order to use the Glamour Dresser you need to first put the items you want to use for glamour inside of it. This requires a one-time cost of one Glamour Prism per item. You're able to safely take out the items, but you'll need to pay another Glamour Prism to put it back into the Dresser. After you have put in the glamour items you want to use for your set you'll want to click on "Edit Glamour Plates".

When the plate window opens up you can select the stored glamours you have onto the slots of the plate to create the set you desire. Once you're satisfied with your glamour click on "Save". You can now apply your Glamour Plate by accessing the Character menu, clicking the Glamour Plate button, and choosing the Plate that you have made.

OK, to make this a whole sentence. If you have X, and you have it copied to a glamour plate, that glamour plate is not affected by the future status of X, so you can sell X to NPC or GC (but not Marketboard).

If you remove that glamour plate or replace X on that plate to something else, it is gone. You need to acquire X again if you want to use it as glamour again
