The best gear currently is melded facet gear, which is crafted or can be bought from the marketboard
depending on your server/data center's economy that can be a bit expensive. could also buy swallowskin set but that's not going to be as good. The other set that would be decent to get is not available to you since you're still in heavensward

both of them are fairly forgiving unsynced now, just watch a vid and if everyone's paying attention you're PROBABLY fine. going in blind, suzaku changes the most from normal mode and thus I'd say is harder
