Is there a difference between going with npc on dungeons as compared to going with players? Are npc companions easier to go with?

Assuming you mean Trusts the only real difference is Trust NPCs tend to be slower than people since they're designed to keep dungeon times around the same regardless of your DPS (the more you do, the less they do)
Upside of course being that especially as a DPS you don't have to wait in queue with Trusts

Personally, the 2.0 and 2.X plots are best experienced with friends. They're just stupid long sometimes and annoying as heck, considering there's just as many patch quests compared to the base game quests.

Where do the fun and challenge come in when playing Machinist? I just unlocked it as my first physical DPS job and its ability to attack and move at the same time gives it a very braindead feeling to me.
