You can install the launcher wherever you want and that's where the game will be downloaded. If you're using Steam, you might have some extra steps to make a new Steam library or something.
You can also move the launcher/game after installing it with seemingly no problem

@shell sail Only other thing I know of is to let Steam download it. Then right click the game in Steam, go to Local Files, and use the Move Install Folder button. You might need to create a new library location in Steam settings first if you haven't already.
Assuming FF14 allows it. I don't have the Steam version, but have other games on Steam that allow that.

GCD clipping. oGCDs have their own animation lock, so if you try to put one between two full casts, you'll clip slightly into the second one, delaying it slightly. To counteract this, you generally want to try to "weave" oGCDs, using them after fast or instant casts where you'll be waiting on the GCD timer anyways, so you don't incur that slight delay. We have a handy BLM-specific bot command version to explain this if you're interested, it's !faq blmweaving

DoT clipping. Basically, refreshing your DoT while it's still applied on the target. For BLM, at higher levels you want to be a bit more specific with thunder and thundercloud proc usage. For proc you use it when the DoT is falling off, or the proc is about to expire. In the latter case, you might clip the DoT slightly to do so, depending on when you got the proc, but this is still reasonable. In the case of hardcast thunder, you want to cast it when the DoT completely falls off. You don't really want to be in a situation to be clipping your DoT with a hardcast thunder. Though, at 60 the lack of a second filler cast for UI (which you'll have at 70, and then a better version at 80 for single target) sometimes means that it's just something you have to do

@pure surge make sure you do your job quests. They'll reward some good upgrades for gear, if you haven't already gotten any of that yet. MSQ will also give you more gear along the way, and you can also spend tomestones of poetics in revenant's toll in mor dhona for some ironworks gear (item level i120, can be upgraded to i130). Better gear means more vitality, which means more HP. As well as helping you deal more damage and take less damage, too.
Prioritize weapon, for which you have to purchase 10 rowena's tokens (poetics) and an encrypted tomestone to exchange for a weapon. If you're on PLD you only need 7 tokens, and then the extra 120 poetics go for a direct purchase of a shield. Also look to replace anything that's a particularly lower item level

@normal oasis roulettes each day as a priority. Try to hit 61 so you can farm heaven on high to level up to 71. Or use dungeons if you're bored/would prefer, but queue times can be a bit slow as a dps. To note though, level 60 (and level 70) dungeons aren't especially good for leveling, they're meant more for tomes. So if you want to farm dungeons to help go over the hump of those levels there, you'll want to farm the level 59 and level 69 dungeons, respectively

(1) a boss fight has the arena split into two with a death zone in the middle. rescue anybodying over from left side to right side or vice versa will kill them
(2) party member gets hit by debuff that makes them walk uncontrollably, they are about to walk off the arena, you rescue them and they dont die
