I’ve basically got the 430 role gear, 2 pieces I bought with Tomestones, and a couple pieces from dungeons.

I plan on gearing up more and doing the raids, but I also imagine that’s going to leave plenty of downtime to do other stuff. I’m thinking diving back into Gathering/Crafting is a good option before leveling a second Job.

How do I get Grand Company Seals?

You can get more seals mainly by completing your Grand Company Hunting Log (Go to the Hunting Log and click on the GC icon), completing FATEs, and turning in crafted/gathered items to the Personnel Officer if you have crafting or gathering classes unlocked. Once you are Sergeant 2nd Class you can turn in Pink/Green/Blue-rarity gear in for more seals.

Since you can't access any meaningful level 60 content without progressing the MSQ further, you have no need for level 60 gear at this time.

Samurai and red mage, for example, both start at level 50 so would be caught up quickly

there's not enough consistent damage or heal checks or anything that require 100% of a healer's attention for in order to keep people up. With only healing, there is a lot of dead time. Better to fill that time contributing a bit of damage instead of just standing around

yeah, you need Heavensward in order to gain access to the zone (which you get to via MSQ) and unlock Machinist. All expansions are bundled together in the most recent expansion, so in order to get Heavensward (along with Stormblood as well) you just purchase Shadowbringers

So, I figure I should make sure this will work, because while with very brief testing it seems to be helping me a lot with remembering my skills, I haven't seen anyone suggest or use a similar HUD setup. Would this setup work fine in regards to learning skills? Not sure if it might cause trouble with some bosses viewing angles, or something else etc.

If they're on the bottom, finding what skills cooldowns are means I litterally have to drag my eyes from the boss to qabout 6 inches downward, which means that lose time and am reluctant to do so @remote lintel . But as long as it wouldn't interfere with anything I'm happy 😛

If you’re just starting Stormblood it will be another ~50-60 hours game time until you’ve finished the MSQ and hit 80 on your first job. So while that’s an option, it’s likely an investment in the distant future. Unless you’re planning on switching sooner rather than later.

I basically rushed through the MSQ over the last month and when I hit 80 it was at 6 days 12 hours played. So it takes a while to Max your first job. Of course you could always switch to SAM/DNC/GNB/etc. and get a head start.

@robust gazelle I’m basically leveling a tank and dps class at the same time, I’m leveling GNB and DNC simultaneously. (I played warrior to 60) Idk if my friends will want me to tank or dps, so I’m doing both... using duty finder to level my tank (fast queues and daily’s) and MSQ to level my DPS (to avoid the long queues)

I’d like to eventually get a healer maxed too

That’s certainly an interesting approach. I leveled a PLD and haven’t touched any other jobs outside of unlocking them and then setting a gear set.

so i would suggest putting those some place were you can see them at an easy glance

@violet ibex ACT runs entirely locally. When you use a webpage/link for an overlay it should also download everything at once since it's a webpage/hook and not like a flash website which requires constant download/upload but I'm not an expert

IIRC trials are license-specific

so you'd be unable to access the trial on a mac if you activate it on windows.
