I wouldn't recommend leveling blue mage to do content as intended either because the run typically falls down to "do it as intended but with 8 DPS until you can final sting cheese it"
(also, BLU can do as much DPS as a level 80 job at level 60)
If you really want to do content as intended, you'll have to do some heavy recruiting for it or find a group of friends.

@runic sluice unfortunately, FFXIV 2.X was highly experimental and some changes means that it's hard to do content as intended because this game is very casual friendly.
However, the difficulty is picking back up.
There's savage-style mechanics in later normal mode trials and normal raids, as an example.
(it's still easy if you know what you're doing but it's fun when you get more than a few new people)

Don't know anything about that specific dungeon but I know that some dungeons have DPS checks that are just outright impossible to finish if you don't have enough DPS. So... you might just need to figure out how to get more DPS. Might need to look at your equipment to see if there's anything you can upgrade.

Hi all. Started playing very recently but today, as I'm trying to log in, it keeps saying "Invalid ID or password". I've changed my password thrice now and I'm 100% certain I'm putting it in correctly and it still won't work. The password works without issue on both the Mogstation and Square Enix websites. @dreamy estuary Only thing that makes sense is that the game is having problems writing stuff to your PC. I think most of that is stored in Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn. Things that might affect it... some sort of anti-virus. Having ransomware protection turned on. Other random things.

so you're not missing out too much on doing those later, though like I said the crystal tower raid (24man) series is strongly recommend to do now, since it'll be important to the story later plus it'll unlock the alliance raid roulette (which is a good roulette for xp)

@vagrant copper ok so.... on SDD (C:), This PC\Documents\My Games\Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn. The final fantasy folder is missing a folder called downloads and a file called "FFXIV_CHARA_01.dat".
However, these folders/file exists as of 4/18 in the "Final Fantasy XIC - A Realm Reborn" folder that I copied to my SDD (D:) as I prefer to keep game storage here.
Do I just copy these files back into the games folder on my (C:) drive, even though I copied the Square Enix folder (client) to my (D:)?

Honestly, it feel like you're putting too much thought into it, Eye. Just play what you want to play right now. The barrier to leveling up alternate jobs is so small in this game and it actively helps you out with various bonuses.

I took a closer look and noticed all of the Final Fantasy character.dat files I moved out of (C:) and over to (D:) had still not been updated since 4.18, yet the game was running fine. Left Square Enix folder on (D:), but moved the char.data files back over and they appear to be updating and my UI and hotbars are staying constant after computer restart. THANKS! 🙂

I suppose technically speaking you get the same xp either way, but say if you wanted to queue for it multiple times for some reason (guildhest has a challenge log xp bonus for doing I think 10 or 15 a week) then healers and tanks pop faster

Can't rely on that. For reliable leveling of chocobro, just having yours out for any and all content is the best. FATEs are more efficient for leveling chocos than players too. Especially the ones where you just have to kill a million enemies.

Also keep in mind that after rank 10, the amount of xp required for a chocobo to go up a rank increases exponentially.
So it's going to be really slow.

That will allow you to bring out your chocobo as a combat companion. From there, as Wynne said, just kill enemies with it out and it will get experience the same way you do.
