So when I was talking about just paying for the skip potion my girlfriend and roommate said that if I do that I end up missing out on mounts, items, pets, and just a lot of stuff in general. You need to do a small sidequest series of hard-mode primals that starts with the quest "A Recurring Problem" from Minfilia in the Waking Sands

Tales of Adventure: MSQ
Pros:
- Lets you skip past an expac, which post people do ARR since as it is right now it can get pretty tedious.
- ARR and Heavensward skips will get you Allagan Platinum Pieces you can sell to vendors for 300k gil, while Stormblood skip will give you 500k.
- All Aetherytes are unlocked for that expansion and any preceding (if applicable)
Cons:
- You will lose out on experiencing a lot of the story, and at present there's no way to go back and experience ARR for yourself, just YouTube videos.
- It only unlocks the dungeons and trials unlocked during the story, you will still will need to unlock the optional dungeons and raids.
- You will still be Level 1, and without the XP from clearing quests it can take a fair bit longer.
Tales of Adventure: Jobs
Pros:
- You start at Level 70 (current level cap is 80) with almost Best in Slot gear for that job.
- Allagan platinum pieces you can sell to Vendors for 500k gil.
- You can honestly steamroll through ARR solo until the 50 stuff, though I still recommend doing the dungeons synced to learn them.
- The EXP from quests and even dungeons will most likely get you to 80 well before Shadowbringers
- WHM automatically gets the unicorn mount from an optional quest you get when you are level 50.
Cons:
- You still have to do all of MSQ unless you buy the skip for that, and you will need to clear the Main Scenario Quest "Stormblood" (or buy a Stormblood skip) to be able to upgrade that gear you have to BiS.
- The Class and Job Quests up to 70 for that Job will be completed as well, and NG+ for those aren't coming 'til 5.3 at the latest. (Though honestly I hear most Class and Job quests are pretty meh with a few notable exceptions like Dark Knight)
- You still need to actually learn your class, and you have to learn all your buttons at 70 early instead of a gradual build.

not particularly. It means that once you used the gear in combat it becomes untradeable. If your gear does hit 100% you can use the "Extract Materia" option to reset it back to 1% and get Materia, which are the stat gems of the game.
Before you used to have to destroy the equipment to get the materia, but that was recently changed in 5.2

The Armoury can comfortably fit all jobs at once. I have all of them unlocked and the only "tight" slot is the weapon slot which only has 5 or 6 spare slots if you keep one of each job's weapon on hand.
The Ring slot can also become cramped if you have multiple jobs at different levels and can't use the same sets of rings

Crafters are pretty optional for the most part in terms of leveling. The story gives a lot of free gear and there's not much to spend gil on besides teleporting/repairs if you don't do crafting.

a friend of mine got the same exp from duty roulette: MSQ than me, even though i was a level higher. Why is that when exp scales by level in there?

Not completely sure then, but the reward does scale according to level, so maybe your levels just have a small difference.

Not to the MSQ in terms of story, but they're still important to do because they give you actions.
(Also some of them have pretty nice stories of their own)

Hey hope this is appropriate here, my friend is trying to download the PC trial version off 14's website, she made a square enix account and stuff, and when choosing 'Windows PC' she's slapped with error i2501, anyone know what could be causing this? 2501 is a general error code for transaction errors.
It could vpn, faulty connection or its a bank issue or SE doesnt like your IP
Its hard for us to say anything beyond try using a VPN or stop using a VPN

Are poetics just irrelevant at some point? I read the faq for them, but the gear is useless at 77, the gil i get from selling stuff is also close to nothing
