'When can I get my first mount?'

The quest that allows you to use mounts, 'My Little Chocobo' is unlocked by completing the level 20 main story quest 'The Company You Keep'. The quest is located at the Grand Company base you chose and you'll need to buy the Chocobo Issuance from your Grand Company Quartermaster. You can get the 200 needed Grand Company seals by doing the main story quest that comes after 'The Company You Keep'.

'Are there any differences between mounts?'

Besides looks, all mounts are the same speed along with being able to fly in the expansion zones. Some mounts allow multiple people to ride at once.

'Can I make my mount faster?'

Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

@slim nimbus keep in mind that double exp doesn't mean half the time. It means less than half the time because a lot of quests don't provide much experience and they take just as long as other quests

That means you'll be spending more time in the earlier boring areas of the game.

Once you've unlocked overmelding, it's just attaching materia to an item. After the main slots have filled on an item that allows "advanced melding" you can add a level VIII to the first of the advanced melding slots, but VIII and lower (besides VI) for every other slot at a decreasing chance

I think there are more specifics to it, but that's as much as I know

The quest that allows you to use mounts, 'My Little Chocobo' is unlocked by completing the level 20 main story quest 'The Company You Keep'. The quest is located at the Grand Company base you chose and you'll need to buy the Chocobo Issuance from your Grand Company Quartermaster. You can get the 200 needed Grand Company seals by doing the main story quest that comes after 'The Company You Keep'.

'Are there any differences between mounts?'

Besides looks, all mounts are the same speed along with being able to fly in the expansion zones. Some mounts allow multiple people to ride at once.

'Can I make my mount faster?'

Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

I think the item is called Thavnairian Dust or something like that for 250 poetics each from Auriana in Mor Dhona, and bring them to Gerolt in the new instanced area (accessible through the Doman Enclave Aetheryte network).

Could someone give me a quick summary why craftin jobs are useful? Can you craft really good endgame gear?

Really good gear for catching up and it's really good for getting a step up in raids when they come out

but then tomestone and savage raid gear would replace it for a while

But generally there is a number of content locked behind crafting, you can make lots of money, you can repair gear in content without having to leave, and lastly, you can make decent endgame gear

I guess more specific my question is, is it worth it to do a crafting job while going through the content og ShB, or will i just outpace crafting gear fast naturally since the patches are quite far already

the game now has preferred servers which give double exp for all jobs below level 70 that lasts for 90 days, that would be the biggest boost and speed up for leveling, however to get said bonus you would need to create another char on a preferred world
But if you want to stay with the char you already have you can do thing like your challange log, roulettes or palace of the dead, palace would be a good way to get in touch with the job again

@leaden ginkgo for the most current tier, each floor has their own weekly lock out. In normal mode, you can loot one token item per floor per week

For savage mode, you get one clear per instance per week to loot as many items as you can or whatever your static group allots to you. You also get a side-token that can be saved up to exchange for specific items if you’re unlucky

If you enter a savage floor with people who have already cleared less coffers or none will spawn.
If you enter a savage floor you already cleared this week you do not get to roll on anything.
If you skip a savage floor to enter a later floor, you lose all loot rights to the floors you skipped.
