Glamour Dresser FAQ

Info

"What is the Glamour Dresser?"

The Glamour Dresser allows you to glamour an entire set of equipment at once when in a city or town. You can find the dresser in your inn room at any of the Adventurer's guilds.

"How do I use it?"

In order to use the Glamour Dresser you need to first put the items you want to use for glamour inside of it. This requires a one-time cost of one Glamour Prism per item. You're able to safely take out the items, but you'll need to pay another Glamour Prism to put it back into the Dresser. After you have put in the glamour items you want to use for your set you'll want to click on "Edit Glamour Plates".

When the plate window opens up you can select the stored glamours you have onto the slots of the plate to create the set you desire. Once you're satisfied with your glamour click on "Save". You can now apply your Glamour Plate by accessing the Character menu, clicking the Glamour Plate button, and choosing the Plate that you have made.

Hey there, Final Fantasy overall player here. Not too used to online multiplayer games. I started playing FFXIV some time ago in the main campaign, got as far as defeating Titan, but dropped the game after the included 30 days because I was feeling super anxious whenever I had to join a group to advance the story, since I felt like I was the only one who had no clue what to do.

Got the expansion on a whim and plan to jump back into the game eventually. Any suggestions/tips for someone who is anxious about playing online with strangers?

That got me super anxious.
I actually told them "sorry, new to this, haven't done this dungeon before".

I was surprised to see how helpful they were.

as for outside that, most dungeons are a straight line so just have your team tail behind you, use your aoe and enmity generator to pull a couple of enemies, kill and repeat

'What is Glamour and how do I unlock it?'

Glamour is the process of changing an equipment's look into a different item with the use of Glamour Prisms. You can unlock the ability to glamour by doing the level 15 quests 'If I Had a Glamour' in Vesper Bay, West Thanalan. Although not required, you can unlock the ability to dye gear with the nearby quest 'Color Your World'. You can get the Orange Juice needed by talking to the nearby Merchant & Mender. Items used for glamouring are not lost upon use.

'How do I glamour? Where do I get more Prisms?'

Glamouring is done by right-clicking (Square or X on controllers) on the equipment you want to glamour and choosing the option 'Cast Glamour'. After clicking this you choose the item you want the appearance on the right half of the menu that opened up. You can get more Glamour Prisms by either crafting them after completing the quest 'Absolutely Glamourous', buying them from your Grand Company Quartermaster, or buying them from the marketboard.

"What is the Glamour Dresser?"

The Glamour Dresser allows you to glamour an entire set of equipment at once when in a city or town. You can find the dresser in your inn room at any of the Adventurer's guilds.

"How do I use it?"

In order to use the Glamour Dresser you need to first put the items you want to use for glamour inside of it. This requires a one-time cost of one Glamour Prism per item. You're able to safely take out the items, but you'll need to pay another Glamour Prism to put it back into the Dresser. After you have put in the glamour items you want to use for your set you'll want to click on "Edit Glamour Plates".

When the plate window opens up you can select the stored glamours you have onto the slots of the plate to create the set you desire. Once you're satisfied with your glamour click on "Save". You can now apply your Glamour Plate by accessing the Character menu, clicking the Glamour Plate button, and choosing the Plate that you have made.

@stark scarab You can do FATEs, keep up with your Hunt log (not worth a ton of xp, but worth some), if you're a tank or healer just spam queue your highest available level dungeon, if dps, unlock the Palace of the Dead and run that a bit.

preferably join a preferred server, which you'll see with a star. joining that will give you a 100% buff for any and all jobs under level 70, which will help with levelling alt jobs.
and when you get to level 35 in a preferred server on free trial, you'll get a 15 day sub.

Here's the good news for you as a WoW player: this game doesn't have nearly the level of gear grinding as WoW does. Endgame gear is standardized, and while there are a variety of sets (crafted, Normal raid, Savage raid, tomestone) within a given ilevel range, you will never have to worry about RNG screwing you over long-term.

@dusk plover Depends on what you're interested in. There's Savage raiding if you want to do progression-type stuff. That will get you the 100% highest ilevel gear for the tier. Some people focus on crafting, which unlike WoW crafting and gathering are entire jobs in and of themselves and have their own content. If you're like me, you do your weekly Normal raid runs, farm tomestones, and level other jobs (since a single character can be all the things).

Basically there's a ton of variety.

PvP is pretty limited. There are two main varieties - small team vs team, and large 3 team "capture the flag" types.

I think there's also dueling (1v1), but I don't know anyone who does that.

They add about a dozen more quests with each major patch, including a new dungeon, and either a new Normal raid wing or a new Alliance raid wing (alternating - even patches get the Normal raid wings, odds get Alliance raids), as well as other side content like beast tribes. And their major patches are typically only about 4 months apart.

Hello, Im new into FFXIV ... recently I have tried all popular MMO and tbh I'm amazed with FF ... It reminds me the classic gameplay I had In older games like wow and lineage.

But I have a few questions.
Right now I'm playing on trial. And would like to purchase complete collectors edition.
I decided to play on Tonberry from EU (reduced ping to 180 with mudfish)
Are there any problems with receiving all bonuses? They are character bound?
Can I transfer them anytime? And can I use them straight up or are they lvl restricted?
Also I have read that trial characters have to be transferred or smth?
