Once you've done the initial unlock quest for the skysteel, any of the oddly specific mats that are gathered are in your gathering log. Anything that's not in the log, is bought with yellow scrips @dry flame

all the battle jobs can give you the same stuff from ventures but each of the gathering jobs give different stuff so just think about what you want really and make sure it's something you plan to level/have leveled @lime sphinx

All the patches have good parts in them, it's just sometimes in those patches they pad it out a bit and that is makes the story poorer because of pacing
some of them are out of place and not necessary but honestly if you just take them on the chin and think of it from a perspective of slowburn story telling it's not that bad, especially if you do some of the good side stuff at 50 in those lows like the 24-man raid

PLD: 60s loop, Fight or Flight is your melee phase, then Requiescat for your magic phase, then you do some filler melee before you can use FoF again
WAR: 90s loop, Inner Release lets you do Fell Cleave or Decimate with 0 cost for 10seconds, you should be able to squeeze 5 of them in here. then in between you use Infuriate to do Enhanced FC/Decimate
DRK: 60s/90s loop, you have Blood Weapons on 60s that speed up your MP charge (which lets you do more oGCD), and the other skill (forgot the name) that make your gauge action cost nothing for 10second (just like Warrior's Inner Release)
GNB: 30/60s loop, every 30s you should do a Gnashing Fang combo, and every 60s you do Gnashing Fang combo + dots + all your oGCD under Under Mercy buff

People won't (or shouldn't) have a problem with you going into EX fights unsynced even if you're not level capped yet. Unsynced 50-60 EXs are trivially easy

so to do lvl 50 EX, you can try with 2 lvl 60+ players

basically, the more Fire you cast, you gain more Astral Fire stack, which empowers your fire spell
tranpose then convert Astral Fire into Umbral Ice and vice versa
under Umbral Ice, you generate MP very quickly
at higher level, you will get Fire/Ice spells that will do the conversion automatically

GNB = Fun, a lot of GCD weaving and does a pack a punch, shares the same few class skills so you can always do well in short and long standing dungeon fights, good all rounder I'd say. It's peak I'd say is its overall damage (but keep in mind all tanks punch the same roughly give or take numbers as each other)
PLD = ezpz, uses more defensive abilities to help protect their team mates as you'll later find out, has good short and long dungeon fights, would argue however that because its the only tank which has a shield though you "block/parry" damage as a rng % that you do mitigate more damage the longer the fight but you know I've never actually done the number crunching. Has the best TB button of all the tanks as it doesn't require your healer to do anything once you've pressed it. Kinda boring rotation is the only downside to it.
DRK= good fucking lore, edgy badass mf with a big ass sword, nuff said!
For me DRK is in the middle of gnb and pld but for separate reasons. However it has the better cool downs imo later in the game and for both short and long fights it does really well. You have to keep up your darkside a lot which gives you something to do whilst doing your usual damage or other rotation.
DRK TB isn't the worst but it's definitely up there next to superbolide, you just have to tell your healer you're about to pop it otherwise you're literally wasting your healers mp just because you used it. Also, it's fun to play.
WAR = AoEs and a lot of self healing and sustained fights through their GCDs, overall in short and long fights the WAR is more fun and has the better rotation imo but it can be a little tricky sometimes to understand straight away but once you got it down you're good to go.
It's TB is one of the better ones and they've changed it so you're no linger stuck in the location now which is good.
