Nah, pre-50 stuff is pretty cheap and you should be able recoup the cost with leves or whatever item you're grinding on for experience.

Large scale leves are less efficient leve-wise compared to doing 10 small leves of the same version, so they're really only good if you keep constantly capping your leves and aren't actively leveling up your crafters.
Though they do have a very good edge-case for doing them, which is near the end of level 59.
Because once you hit level 60 the leves in Ishgard will suddenly have their experience reward plummet to a low enough amount that they're not doing anymore.
So doing a Large-Scale leve at 59 reaps the full benefit.

You Ideally want 600 GP at minimum to be able to do the good rotations. As for what rotations you use it depends on the collectability of the item and the number of gathering attempts the node has.
As for the differences between the Appraisals, Methodical is a 1x with no procs, Impulsive is a 0.9x that can proc Discerning Eye, and Instinctual is a 0.8-1.5x RNG amount.

@scenic patio most dungeon gear isn't tradeable, so your main option for making money off of them is basically what you've been doing. Though SE does occasionally make the newest dungeon's gear be desynthesizable into materials that crafters want for endgame recipes.

@open coral you can "cheese" battle leve with high leveled character. Partied up, the sprout just stand on leve npc, pick kill-type leve, hit start, the high level one shotted spawned mob, leve finish in a few secs, sprout get exp, repeat (I've done this thrice)
