Question to the FFXIV faithful...I don’t get much time to play but would like to have a game like this to keep entertained. I’m only lvl 39 and starting to wonder about content in later game. I know there’s a plethora of story quests, but is there more to do endgame than dungeon/instance (sorry for wrong naming) runs? Is there a ton to do outside of that? Crafting/housing/ etc. I don’t have the time to invest in raids :/

Of course there is. Crafting is the endgame for some players (although you do have to level your crafters, that takes more money than time), you can try to get a housing plot and furnish your own home, or just buy an apartment.
There's also PvP if you're into that

Nope. Crafting mats are largely available in the open world.
Some of the higher level recipes require materials from older raids or dungeons, but those can be soloed unsynced fairly easily.

TN = true north, meaning north is always north. Juxtaposed against relative north, which is boss-relative positioning--if the boss goes south, for relative north you'd consider south to be "north"
CL = chain lightning, for E5S there's two main strategies to deal with the mechanic. For circle/corona strat you have everyone with set positions around the boss, healers on opposing sides, and you pass chain lightning around in a circle around the boss. For triangle, you have two separate triangles (generally with healer + melee + ranged/caster trio) on either side of the boss and just pass between the three of you
for TMMRRHH, I suppose that would be for fury 14 positioning, for lining up with the spears. Tank would be at the furthest north spear, then you'd have both melee at 2nd and 3rd spear, ranged/caster at 4th and 5th, healers at 6th and 7th. This is where true north comes into play, since sometimes for this ramuh will charge to the south before the mechanic
for true north you'd still consider the position at the N edge of the arena to be where you start that lineup order for, whether ramuh is north or south. For relative north, if he happens to go to the south, then you'd start lining up from the south instead
for E6S enrage, that simply means that you've seen every mechanic in E6S and gotten wiped by the enrage cast (final cast at the end of the fight that wipes the raid if the boss isn't dead yet). Generally implies that you can perform the entirety of the fight properly to get back there, and should be able to get a clear relatively quickly with a good group

Depends on your job, although I would sell them on the MB as some can go for a few thousand gil depending on the server's economy.
IMO, materia doesn't matter much until level cap since you'll be replacing gear constantly while leveling.

Yeah most of the stuff you get from rewards in this game should choose gil value>anything else.
around 60ish is when you want to start picking gear related rewards and such
cause dungeon gear will run you through most content from first dungeon onward

but yeah the markets are per server, but iirc you can also go to another server and buy from their market, unless they changed that recently

so if you choose marauder or arcanist, you'll start in limsa lominsa
if you choose archer, conjurer or lancer, you'll start in gridania

It's a trade off. Unsynced the run is faster and easier because you'll typically overlevel and vastly outgear the instance. Synced it's a longer run (and you have to wait for party members if you're not in a premade group), but you get all of the rewards such as poetics and xp.

BiS kind of depends on what kind of stat layout you're looking for. It's usually a combination of (Savage) raid gear and upgraded tomestone gear. Occasionally HQ crafted gear makes the list as well.

it is commonly regarded as one of the "stretches" of the game
where there is just a lot of quests that dont really add anything
ie: talking to npcs, kill x monsters, etc.
but it will be worth it once you hit HW :)

if youre healer or tank, it is probably about the same since i believe dungeons are the best way to level up at the later levels
from 1-50, its pretty even across all the class since PoTD is the most efficient way to level, although boring
