@proven cliff PVP doesnt have many players and its not an endgame activity. the majority of players either collects glamour items to make pics for their characters instagram account or goes raiding. there are also some that focus on crafting/gathering (moneymaking) or social stuff etc
be aware that it is a game with a big focus on story, so it will take quite some time before you reach the endgame
and everything is locked behind story

there is casual raiding for the story and then there is savage raiding for the challenge. in general the raids are often praised because they can be real fun if you have a decent group
the "hard" raids are usually 8 players. there are also 24man raids, but they are also rather casual

or you get good at it
glitching furniture is needed to make stuff float where it doesn't usually behave like that. e.g. stairs cannot be rotated so most of us will shove it on a partition and do a trick to make it float. another e.g. is that lofts do not hold anything up there, theyre totally useless unless you glitch items to snap to the "floor"
and if you do it wrong, it'll all fall back down and you have to redo it. also it's very hard to do these things on controller lol

Preferred bonus makes it so you pretty much only need to do the story and important side quests when playing. Without it you’ll have to do some extra stuff like some daily roulettes or dungeon runs

I personally like White Mage and Scholar currently. I used to be in love with Astrologian but with the 5.0 card changes they can feel a bit clumsy to use on controller while trying to also optimize damage

each healer plays differently. white mage is most straight forward and annoying to max out personal dps.
astrogian requires inventing profanity at the card system (still) and if really dependent on its role to buff other people in the party.
scholar is an old raid fave although not as popular because it requires pre-planning when to use fairy skills (regens), when to use preemptive healing (excog), and when to use reactive healing. it's main thing is shielding to avoid taking damage although ast can do this also to a certain degree
unlock wise they are a mixed bag. ast starts at 30 (requires foundation available) which is the same as the other 2 but they have starting classes so if are learning healing from scratch that's a little extra time
(to level the class from lv 1)
