Dots are affected by whatever debuff was on when it was applied, so they wouldn't be affected
@hard kettle IIRC they made that change because people from other servers would show up and just do the FATEs and then fuck off again. It was also harder for people's machines to cope, especially when the holy spam started just to crash other people

Well, no. The game shouldn't let you log in on a level 80 character if Shadowbringers isn't installed. Though I find it weird that the Complete Edition doesn't have it, since that's the entire point of it

BLM is not about burst damage at all, even at 80. Spellspeed is important yes, but it's still reliant on full, longer casts for most of it's damage
also don't get the benefit other jobs have where they have damaging oGCD to frequently use, it's a strong focus on GCD spells

hmm, most cases you don't need to/shouldn't prioritize triple for movement. Generally natural alignment + xeno + procs + slidecasting + AM takes care of pretty much everything

Going on a preferred world would get you with more people who are in on the leveling process but it is kinda the same sure in terms of main story
But since you can be all the jobs on one character there are a lot of people who are at endgame and still leveling
So you would still be able to do daily leveling stuff with other people

FFXIV's systems encourage players of all levels to continue to revisit older zones as well as newer ones.
And for dungeons and stuff, the level sync system means you'll have the entire player base (on your datacenter) to do dungeons with at level.

The thing is that most of your initial leveling is just doing the main story and that can be quite a solo experience unless you get a friend to join in with you or something (minus dungeons and stuff of course because of what Aura said)

The starting tanks are Gladiator and Marauder. Gladiator eventually gets a magic mini-rotation in the later levels, while Marauder gets an ability that makes their strongest attack free and always crit for 10 seconds

Gladiator then! It becomes Paladin at 30 and they also have a strong single-target heal if needed

Do your research first and farm capped tomestones and upgrade your gear to i490.
Eden Verse gear is i480 as well crafted gear.
Do the MSQ and the normal raids to be able to do the high-end ones.
Also try to unlock and clear Cinder Drift Extreme too.

this channel is fine. You don't have to export the file in order to upload, you just have to navigate to the log file on the fllogs uploader
default location is in AppData etc, you can see (and change) the location log files get saved at in Plugins -> FFXIV Settings -> near the bottom, "log file location"

- MSQ
- dungeon roulettes (leveling and maybe trials) when MSQ surpasses your current level
- run normal dungeons if roulettes are on cooldown
that's if you want to go "optimally", I guess, but I don't recall any time during ARR when I wasn't high enough level for the MSQ doing basically that

Main method as a combat class is to trade in tomestones of Phantasmagoria in for crafting materials and to run Zonureskin treasure maps. You can also spend grand company seals on Glamour Prisms and sell those.
Crafter/gatherer very much depends on your server, what sells good for one server might not be profitable or barely moves on another server
but generally the current/previous patch of glamour items have decent demand
Furniture can be hit/miss but there are usually hidden gems that sell for a lot compared to what they cost to make
Something that's usually consistent is selling items used to trade in for leves
