main things that are not cross server are: free companies, and player housing
so if you're wanting a chance at a house, might behoove you to go for a smaller world since housing is more likely there

So if you did the healer Role quests on WHM you have access to that gear at 80
And if you were to level SCH or AST after then those would be available
But if you leveled a DPS you would have to do those role quests before the gear becomes available

If it's somethign that can wait I'd recommend leveling through the MSQ and getting gil through those quests etc, and building up gil from level 80 maps.
If it's something you need sooner than later, I'd recommend getting through all the HW primals and unlocking their extremes in Mor Dhona through the wandering minstrel and do unsynced runs with PF or something but the higher level you are the more content you can access and make money from.

the first tier of raids is 1-4, second is 5-8 and the third is 9-12
So we are on the second tier right now
so it's referred to by Eden 5-8 for the four fights in order

Best thing to do is just try out the other jobs and see how they play

you only really get the signature core skills for most jobs around 50-60 so until then you probably won't know which ones you love and which ones you hate

I'm curious as this is the 2nd time I am running through the game (going through the whole game on an alt again)
From 1 - 50, I am gaining levels MUCH MUCH slower than I remember.
Like, I used to be able to go into high areas with a level 80, and I would hit the mobs and they would finish them all off and I'd get a trove of XP, but now...
It doesn't matter if I'm level 20 or 30 or 40 (41 at this time), the XP is not going above 385 - 500 per kill, when it used to be 8k - 10k.
Did SquareEnix do something or am I missing something that I may have had during my first run through last year?

So I've been playing nothing but WHM since November 2019 when I started FFXIV. I'm used to playing only healer classes in MMOs, and especially used to only getting to play one class (if you didn't make alts). However I was told to at least level 1 other class for 2 reasons: 1) It gives me perspective and makes me a better healer and 2) makes me more flexible when filling roles for FC roulettes and such
What would the experienced players recommend I run, mostly for point #1? Personally I think I'm interested in either Dark Knight or Bard for the huge weapons. Not sure if those are 2 good picks. So basically either tank or DPS. Tanking sounds potentially interesting

Three Bards Down: player housing doesn't cost anything (to maintain) but you have to enter it (and fc house) at least every 45 days or the server yeets it (auto demolish. they send a warning email.in theory). the cost to build (housing permit) is seperate from the price of the land. the permit will get you basic walls depending on what housing zone you bought the land in

Greetings all! I'm a FF newbie and had a question for you fine folks 🙂 Currently level 35. For the first 10 levels or so I took any quest I saw, but realized I was quickly out leveling the msq. Since then, I ONLY do the msq... pass up all those pretty pretty exclamation points tempting me. I have one quest in my journal, the msq "On to a Little Ala Mhigo" and it's marked at level 25. Is this normal to outlevel the msq so greatly and should I just continue on this path of single mindedness? I've only been leveling Conjurer, haven't started any other jobs or professions. Am I FFXIV'ing correctly? 🙂 Thanks!

It’s pretty normal to out level the story early on if you do extra stuff, more so if you’ve been doing sidequests or are playing on a preferred server and have the experience buff

Not sure what a preferred server is, but I def get a lot of exp buffs. Plus with rested exp and food, I level very easily it seems. So just keep going and start doing side quests if my leveling slows down?

Normal sidequests are pretty poor for experience, running dungeons and a daily leveling roulette give a lot more experience

Pretty much all categories have a chance to give one, with the gold saucer challenges being like a “wild card” pool that’s much larger

And you send them out to do stuff

What I did recently to level blu was kill stuff with water gun (or whatever its called) until I was high enough to get 1000 needles. Then get that and sticky tounge, and use them to kill stuff. Go after new spells when level appropriate.

weekly custom delivery is probably the lowest stress way to get crafter scrip. if you simply need more of it then the task is collectable crafting (which is the same idea as custom delivery but the mats are more expensive)
