the exception to this rule are dungeons at the old 50, 60 and 70 level caps. yeah definitely, that's just the easiest gold item to get @hearty garden
but i imagine having one of any other gold items and getting the dye points should do it
it varies because there's a bunch of factors like starting rank, max rank, being able to do more than 3 quests per day on ARR tribes etc but I'd guess around 2-3 weeks of dailies? @remote sage

Blm: simple rotation wise, BIG EXPLOSIONS and damage, no raid buffs or combat res and does need to know the fight more than others to know where to turret up, slightly immobile without cooldowns bur can be very mobile with cooldowns
Rdm: simplest caster, straight forward rotation/priority system...quite mobile, has raid buff, can chain res...lowest dps of casters

Astro focuses a lot on buffing other party members, White Mage (conjurer) focuses a lot on raw reactionary healing to damage and doing DPS themself in between and Scholar has a healing pet, puts shields on people, and focuses on using charges of a move for powerful healing

@gleaming finch generally recommend 1 combat and 1 gatherer, since if you're going to level crafters, having a combat retainer that can gather mob materials for you is pretty nice. that said, though, two gatherer retainers is also perfectly fine

It takes a bit to get to the floors that most people grind (51-60), but besides that it's not too challenging.
You just have to open up lots of Silver chests and turn in your aetherpool points into grips to exchange for the Padjali weapons

@grizzled mist most of the time, no. If the main tank ever dies you can just put your stance on and then provoke the boss.
A few extreme/savage fights have tank-based mechanics that rely on the off-tank being #2 in aggro, but they don't appear in lower-end content

You can turn in non-white rarity gear in at your grand company for seals if you're the rank of Sergeant Second Class.
There's also desynthesizing the gear into semi-random crafting materials, though that requires leveling up the appropriate crafting class and is generally not worth it in terms of the gear the story gives.

You can buy glamour prisms with them which can sell for a decent amount of gil
the higher ranks also unlock more gear/glamour, with 2nd Lieutenant unlocking The Hunt, which is a thing that lets you get old gear and minions/mounts from each expansion's version of it
You're also maxed out since you never applied for promotions at the grand company base at the personnel officer

You can use the second save file to start from floor one. just make sure to open every silver chest you see as that increases your aetherpool level which is what you need to get to the higher floor sets.

The only legit reason that I know of is there is a level 30 CNJ that can't be accepted if you have the WHM stone equipped. I'm not aware of any other quests that do that though.
