but yeah, basically sps continues to be a stat that the job scales well with (and is why at BiS the best set still remains high sps)
the reason why the other casters don't scale as well with sps is because they have a lot of damage in oGCD (and for RDM, they don't have DoTs to take advantage of the potency scaling that comes with sps), so while it's not a "bad" stat it's just a good bit weaker than the other options

So use it to get to an enemy quicker if it's far away
It's damage sucks for it's kenki cost but when it lets you get back to the target and do your skills faster it's very helpful in that regard.

@gleaming acorn If you think you ultimately want to be SMN or BRD (Summoner or Bard), then start out as the base job for one of those - either Arcanist (for SMN) or Archer (for Bard).
The only difference is basically which town you'll start out in.

You don't really need to worry about "wanted" or "not wanted" or whatever unless you're planning to get way into the Savage endgame scene.

I'd mostly just recommend paying attention to your hotbar/moving stuff on a secondary hotbar that you position elsewhere and resizing them to show you the recast a bit better

That's not quite so easy on the controller crossbars. I have to put stuff on secondary bars that are out of sight, which means I need a "heads up this ability is available again" tied to them.

@atomic echo no real guide I can list, mainly to make sure you can easily see needed stuff like your buffs and job gauge, have enough hot bars for your actions, and if you play healer then keep the party list kinda near the center of the screen for easy viewing.

@dawn mountain leveling is super fast on preferred servers, and depending on how old of stuff you were reading then it was possibly before HW story got an experience buff
You probably won’t ever hit a level gate on a preferred server unless you literally only do the story and the required dungeons like once

Things will get a bit tougher exp-wise once you’re in shadowbringers, but as long as you do a daily leveling roulette then you’ll stay ahead of the curve

Some people use ESDF which opens up QWAZ for your pink to get much easier.
If you set it up and then copy the hotbar they should translate over for most of the skills for DoH.

So I use for example 1234 hotbars. I did /hotbar copy CUL 1 LTW 1 for all 4 bars, then I swapped out LTW with the next class. So then it'd be /hotbar copy CUL 1 ALC 1
then do it for 2 3 and 4.
It's a bit tedious, I'd probably write it up in notepad++ and then copy it over haha.
There is also a reset all macro, instead of manually removing each skill

gatherer collectibles are limited by their GP regeneration
base is 5 GP a tick, you need at least 400 to be able to use discerning eye to get minimum collectibility
each collectible only gives 20-30 scrips,
you get at most 4-5 collectibles
it ain't worth it man

If he really wants to, its possible though. I gatherer script-ed my sands, only took about 1-2 hrs
And raising gatherer to 50 only took several hours if ur using leve
Ps: fishing cat / flower girl leve plate is your gatherer bff
It would be faster if you're using cordials HQ and with good gears

A some players prefers to MT, others would rather OT if they are first time to the dungeon, and some genuinely don't have a preference. This can be easily handled by asking the other tank if they wanna MT
B if neither tanks want to MT or if both of them want to, then use /random to pick who get to MT

@forest laurel if you keep at it you should be able to catch up for 5.3. It took me a little over 8 weeks from when I started FF14 to when I got to the end of 5.2, and that was with taking breaks from MSQ to unlock extra content like trials and raids
