Void , i am new myself but bought the whole game, however, i have heard that you get burned out of this game if you just stay in realm reborn and level up all kinds of jobs. I would lvl one job to 80, get a taste of that and then lvl others. Maybe the vets here differ

You generally unlock Flying for a zone when you're done with it in the leveling story. So for Coerthas Western Highlands you can unlock flying at 51, while for the Sea of Clouds you unlock it at 57 since the zone is divided in two.

What server to choose: Depends on what you want to do and where do you live. Make sure to choose a data centre in your region. I'm a European playing in NA and the ping sucks.
That being said, NA Aether has a lot of raiders and EU Chaos (especially Omega) has a lot of roleplaying, so if you're in those regions and want to do that thing, I recommend those data centrres.

Also, one more thing: As soon as you've created your character, and gone through the tutorial, go to the aetheryte (you will be told where it is) and /shout something to the effect of "can someone invite me to the novice network?". Honestly the novice network is the best thing ever if you're, yknow, a novice. I didn't know what it was when I first rolled up a character, and it would've been so useful.

The longer answer is that every piece of endgame gear, both crafted and obtained through raids/tomestones, has a specific number of materia slots on it. By inserting materia of appropriate level into those slots (the current expansion uses level VII and VIII materia), you can increase the base stats provided by the gear to improve your character's performance if you know what you're doing.

By the X5 dungeon for each expansion, you'll start getting better gear from the dungeon, albeit by just a little.
If you're using full poetics gear through the X7 dungeon, you're going to notice yourself falling behind in terms of ability to survive/protect your party (depending on your role).

Just figure out a winning deck/strategy and continue until you've earned all rewards... is the brute force approach that I've taken, and it seems to work.
Some of the rewards cards have a higher drop chance than others though. There's one in Kugane that I just can't seem to get.

And if the circle is whole there would be no positionals. if it breaks the point where there is no circle is considered the rear, and the sides where it starts back up again is the flank or sides of the boss.
