@thick bolt I'm colour blind too. Have you tried windows 10 own colour blind settings? For me they are better than what is built in the game. Also i would suggest downloading and installing reshade, that helps with colours

the xp rewards for the challenge log and stable training scale as a percentage of needed xp, so they're the most efficient way to level up
once you've cleared the challenge log it's not as important to have them with you, because the xp thay gain from killing normal monsters is relatively small

assets not loading is usually an I/O issue so either something in the background like battle.net or steam is using up all your drive resources, or your drive itself is having problems loading content
because XIV streams data like a lot of other games poor I/O performance can cause that

@white helm I always find it helpful to work my way upwards from lower levels. So maybe try running a low level dungeons with your squad and see how it works if you only have like 5 skills instead of a bazillion.

i'm about to be a new player and starting the game soon. i'm playing healer in world of warcraft in a world rank 145 guild so i'm pretty good with this kind of mmos. i've been playing healer always, in every single game, and it's my favourite role and i only play healer. if you know world of warcraft, you need to switch spec to DPS to play solo content when you're not in a party. how is this in ffxiv? like if i play white mage, is it possible to switch to full dps when i'm playing solo and go healing in parties? or can healers do solo content by themselves?

I'd also test to see how easy and comfortable it is for you to move your hand to certain keys. Does moving your fingers down feel better than moving it up? might be worth using the letter keys than the number keys.
Does it feel better use pinky and index finger? might be wise to try ESDF for movement instead, and open up the left buttons now.

the game is not particularly 'restart friendly' for what it's worth. stuff doesn't carry over/most things are not account wide?
so you'd have to start all over, keep almost nothing, and get through several hundreds of main story missions to catch back up

Same here. But for whatever reason, leaving steam in the background will just randomly close FFXIV. Was stalled on the final boss in the 71 dungeon for at least 10 minutes, but closing steam made it so that the game wouldn't randomly close in a middle of a pull.
