Extreme is a very hard version of a trial. From what I've seen, they're not fundamentally different from the normal version. Titan Extreme will still have landslide, just a lot more of them. Shiva Extreme will still have that "stand in the centre to avoid whatever it is" mechanic.
Savage and Ultimate apply to raids. Cal please correct me if I'm wrong, but Savage raids can be fundamentally different from normal raids, at least I know that a random background feature becomes an actual add or phase during one of the savage ||Omega|| fights. I know nothing about ultimates.

That's the most efficient-ish method, not necessarily the most fun
Spamming deep dungeons for so long is quite mind numbing

For NA datacenters, the basic spread is that Crystal is the RP datacenter, Aether is the hardcore endgame datacenter (more people interested in doing high-end endgame content), and Primal is the more casual datacenter.

Crystal has proportionally a much lower raiding population than the other data centers. You're likely to have a more difficult time finding groups and PF is going to be sparser. That said, if you have a static the only thing that matters to your chances of success are the 7 other people in your party.
I don't think Crystal would necessarily be harsher to newbies, although I don't have direct experience.

There's a dungeon, trial, and several cutscenes and it's very emotional and I'd give yourself a little more than an hour to be comfortable with it/get into the postgame grind (although you can probably hold off till tuesday since it'll be a new grind then)

Typically with the way the story is structured and "Level Syncing" there's no real reason to form a party with anyone since you can queue instances with random people, but if you want some people that might help you out you can try your luck with a "Free Company" which is a clan/guild of players. If you see one being adverted just send them a tell and get invited

@marsh oyster Really the biggest complaint that most people seem to have about the post-ARR quests is that there's a lot of "go here, talk to this person, then go here and talk to another person" type quests that don't really have relevance to the main plot.
I definitely agree with Calisaie that if you get tired of running all over Eorzea doing fetch quests, you should go unlock some of the 
content like the 24-man raid or the Extreme primal trials as a good way to break up the monotony.

The xp for running a MSQ (Castrum or Prae) as specific queue is about the same as what you'd get from running your highest level leveling dungeon at 50, with diminishing returns as your level increases. The roulette bonus is the only thing that keeps those competitive from an xp standpoint, since that scales with your level.

Selecting a Preferred server (will have a star next to it in the server list) you will gain a 90 day xp buff that will last either 90 days from the time you create your character OR until you reach level 70, whichever comes first.
Preferred servers will also tend to have a higher population of newer players in general.

SAM is significantly easier since it starts at 50
DRG you have to level it up from 1 as a LNC
