hidden ores are an RNG chance to spawn. You don't need to mine the node, just open it up, go to the next one, and repeat

@heady grotto While there have been some rather significant system changes in the past 18 months, the only real disadvantage to picking up where you left off would probably be whether you recall what was happening in the story.
You might need to relearn your job, since there were some major changes to skills (many role actions were removed with Shadowbringers, TP was removed entirely and MP set to 10000 for all jobs at all levels, some abilities had their effects changed or were removed entirely), but that's not really difficult to do.

if you were only level 20, you can start a new character on a preferred server and catch up real quick since you get a massive exp bonus. To note though, you don't have to make a new account (unless you really want to), just a new character if you want to start fresh

- Just CUT the game out of current folder on another part of your HDD drive. It will take 0 seconds because moving files on same drive is fast.
- Click Uninstall on FFXIV through steam. Now it will delete empty game (because you moved, so you don't lose files)
- Click Install on FFXIV through steam. Now it will download launcher without the game installed. 15 megabytes or something like that.
- Now you can move your FFXIV from HDD to SSD in the same very folder where steam installed it through step 3.
