And that is telling you which targeting filter you're on. It automatically switches to Others when in combat.
But that is a setting that can be adjusted in your Character Config

I dunno, I just generally got a good bit of gil from just doing roulettes/dailies and whatnot over time. And something like relic, there's not really a big motivation to get it right away anyways, or often even do it unless you want it for glamour. You can get better weapons with significantly less investment, both time and gil.
And if you want it down the line for glamour it's a lot easier to do it at a higher level when you can just unsync duties and such and breeze through them (and probably have enough gil from MSQ and whatever else to afford what you need for the relic)

Tomestones are rewarded from most level 80 battle content.
Goetia can be obtained as much as you want; phantasmagoria has a weekly limit of 450 tomestones.

Fire 4 is your main damage gcd. You want 6 fire IVs in your astral fire phase, you fire I once to refresh the timer. When you go into umbral ice you blizzard IV to gain umbral hearts which reduce the mp cost of spells allowing you to get those 6 fire IVs off

It can only be used while Seraph is active, which is on a 120 second recast timer
Consolation is a 2 charge skill
you'll always have two charges ready whenever Seraph is ready to be used
so them changing the recast from 20 to 30 seconds was really just to stop people from somehow squeezing in 3 casts of the skill with the duration being increased to 22 seconds

try the dummies in wolves den to see how the job works, cause they're extremely different than in pve, with some skills working super differently
and then just queue for one of the frontlines/big pvp and try to kill people
you need to be 30+ already so you can't really go in with a low level alt but the exp you get from it is meh, depends on win/loss and there's generally faster ways of leveling

2 - Make sure to attack mobs during pull using Bio/Ruin 2 and use Aetherflow as soon as you enter combat
3 - When the tank stop the pull, use Whispering Dawn, if there are magic mobs also use Fey Illumination, this will also boosts healing potency for whispering dawn
4 - Keep your target on the tank and start spamming Art of War
5 - Use Lustrate as necessary when the tank HP get down, you can use 3 lustrates after that if mobs are still alive starting using adlo again if necessary

In boss fights, should I get into the habit of dumping fairy on top of the boss, or the habit of gluing myself to the tank and leaving fairy on myself? I miss whispers all the time.

I usually put the fairy in the middle of the room and call it back when necessary
You can use illu if theres big magic attacks coming or theres magic mobs on that pull
As for dissipation I use it if I know I wont need the fairy and just dump it on dps or Im on a pinch and need the aetherflow to heal
Also always prioritize Excog over lustrate
One thing to keep in mind about the fairy is that she wont heal if shes too far from the tank
So thats a lot of missed heals

There is a settings in the hotbar settings in character config to enae expanded crosshotbar controls which kinda lets you access more skills without strictly swapping hotbars. A lot of people swear down by its useful so you might want to check it out. Personally I'm not a fan

you will end up with a lot more buttons than will fit on one crossbar, and all of them are mandatory. there are enough buttons to play most any job without having to do mid-combat crossbar switching if you have expanded cross hotbars and WXHB (double cross hotbar) enabled.

what it does is add 8 extra assignment slots for holding L2, then R2, and for R2, then L2, as well as 8 apiece for double-tapping R2 and double-tapping L2. that's 48 total buttons, which is enough for every job in the game
