Level syncing will cap off both substats at whatever the high stat is for a piece of gear at that ilvl

so basically

this is pert of my uwu gear

crit is 295, so a high ilvl piece with like 400 crit and 300 det would get synced down to 295 crit and 295 det

with 2 det materia, the i375 piece has 295 crit and 287 det, so synced pieces are slightly stronger for that slot and ilvl

but then you have this

The high substat is 182 sks, so a high ilvl piece would get capped off at 182 crit and 182 sks

the simple rule of thumb is syncing is usually better on chest/pants/weapon, worse for head/hands/feet, and roughly equal for accessories

There are 2 types, a hard item level sync, that forces the item level down to the iLvL said by the game.

Soft sync is that the item level is too high for the synced level. (And is synced to the highest gear stats that the synced level can equip on that level.)

Another thing, I am leveling Paladin finally (actually enjoying it so far). Maybe I am just dense but explain Sheltron to me. It blocks ALL damage in front of me for 4 seconds? 'Why does my EXP bar have some blue in it?'

That's Rested experience, which is an extra source of bonus experience shared between all of your classes. You gradually earn this while inside a sanctuary (town or area with a major aetheryte), regardless of whether you're online or not. Sanctuaries are also indicated with a crescent moon icon near your experience bar.

'How much of a boost is it?'

The most amount of rested experience you can have at once is one and a half levels of experience. That means that lower level jobs use up the rested experience faster than higher level jobs do.

As long as you're playing a Disciple of War or a Disciple of Magic class that's a lower level than your highest level class then you're able to benefit from the bonus experience. You do not need to have a class at level 80 for the bonus to be active.

'How much is the bonus experience?'

You get +100% experience from levels 1 to 69, which then reduces to +50% for level 70 to 79. The difference in level between your current class and highest class does not change the amount of experience you get.

Alisaie's story in ARR is mostly in the Coils of Bahamut side quest/raid. You can also consider the Crystal Tower 24man storyline but that only comes into importance in shadowbringers.

Everything else is optional lore. they are nice to know but not as important as introducing Alisaie's story.

You can also decide to progress the Heavensward story and come back to do Coils at a higher level.

Thing is, my friend and me both played the 30 days trial and now want to add game time to our accounts while also getting our hands on the rewards. Now, neither of us has a button to see our friend code to send it to one another, only the button to enter a code. I googled for a while now and couldn’t find any answers, only that it depends on what type of payment you use if you get the rewards right away or only at the end of your subscription...? you don't have to worry about the "get rewards right away" because you will--the thing you were reading about was circumventing those 30 days to get the recruitment rewards right away

since you need a paid subscription to have those kick in, those 30 free days don't count, so normally you'd have to wait until those 30 days expired to get the rewards. You can circumvent this time with a gametime card instead of just paying more directly, but

You cannot skip all the story and levels. The level and story skip will put you at the previous expansions level cap and story finale.

You will still need to do the current expansion leveling (70-80) and story.

As for you last question, yeah fairly easy to get into a raiding group. They are primarily done through statics rather than FCs but some FCs may run multiple statics. You'll want to join Primal or Aether DC if raiding is your only interest

this is weird

on the wiki it says there should be a command called "/names" and another called "/enemylevel" which can be set to on or off alike

but they don't seem to be working

...there are a lot of commands that don't exist

What’s the best way to get lots of xp?

How do I meet the 500ish craftsmanship recommendation shown for most lvl 51-55 gear? I need that much to eventually craft gear upgrades for my DoH jobs. For example, my BSM has 337 craftsmanship and has level 50 primary/secondary equipped

it seems like being self-sufficient for gear over level 50 is impossible

there is a huge jump in craftsmanship/control requirements

If you have some gil an easy trick is to go into the Ishgard market and buy some level 51 NQ gear

that's a pretty big step up

This looks like the solution to the problem for now. Downside is I need rotations now for intermediate mats, where i didn't need that before

i will just say that for 60, it'll probably be a bit annoying to get geared if you go yellow scrips and don't push to 61

since they made the universal set for hw a crafted set as well, so the yellow scrip set is class specific

and i personally do not recommend crafting the ironworks/carbonweave set unless you can find the mats for cheap

but generally outside of that, you should only really be using holy spirt under requiescat

The one thing to keep in mind is you generally want full MP / minimum required requiescat MP otherwise you don't get the bonuses

This becomes critical when you get a trait where requiescat with the proper MP level will cause holy spirit to be insta-cast
