Yeah when you say you finished the end of ARR did you mean you did that or did you actually finish all the patch stuff as well leading up to the first expansion?
To answer as much as I can for now though the expansions are fucking good. HW and ShB are regarded as some of the best FF stories in recent times. (I think that's a fair opinion that I see tossed around, also not like it's hard.) The expansion between them, Stormblood isn't as good but it's still fairly good, it's just flanked by perfection is the issue and it tells what it wants to tell fairly well (it's more actiony.) For the stuff after main story that'd mainly boil down to you doing whatever, leveling other jobs, making gil, doing crafting and gathering, raids, plenty of raids, beast tribe quests

Prae and the final dungeons of 2.0 do suck for the reason of they go on too long and while ARR's story is good it does suffer from god awful pacing that makes it quite unenjoyable for a number of people. The patch quests aren't really different. There are good parts of it, filler parts in it, and it goes on for a bit. Much like the 2.0 stuff.
However all of that is quite important for future plot points in the first and second expansion, and depending on how you stretch the definition, maybe even the latest one

Or if you've already progressed through some of the MSQ and don't want to have to do that again, you can use a Fantasia potion (from either the cash shop or finishing the ARR storyline) to completely remake your character without losing any of your progress in the game.

I've been stuck in the "The intervention quest" for a while now. I can't seem to get HQ on the first item on the list. Woolen beret. I've wasted around 20k on materials, (Even though I could get the materials) Except for Apkallu Down. (I don't know where I can get that item so wasted more gil to buy mats) So I was in a rush had to go so I bought the other materials. Then it hit me even though I had the materials I ran out of shards. So I wasted more gil. Now I have enough to craft a few. I hope you guys can help.

Ishgard restoration is a really nice way to level up too if you are far enough in main story to unlock

B) you get scrips you can spend on items (though low-level items don't give much scrips)
C) you can say, gather all the materials you need for one item and just keep making that item over and over for ages whereas with leves what you need to make changes fairly quickly

For melding: is the optimization only needed for Savage Raids? I am not a savage raider but like to do Ex Primals. However I am playing WAR & PLD and I don’t really want to farm 2x tank gear because they have different melding priority.
