As for what one makes most money you have to level them all
They all use materials from one another so you need to be able to make all the materials yourself or else have to buy them for an overpriced amount

why is it that i was assured by 100% of the ffxiv community that i talked to, that i could keep up in level with the msq by playing multiple classes, not worrying about side quests, and never even mentioning level roulettes, and then managed to hit a wall at level 40 when i completely ignored all of that advice? i never deviated from gladiator/paladin, did just about every side quest i laid eyes on, and did a couple levelling roulettes.

Palace of the Dead is the most efficient method for leveling DPS to around level 61 but it's also very boring after a while. You also want to do your roulette every day (or in your case just the leveling roulette since that is all you have at that level)

as we noted a bit ago, you will hit MSQ walls without road to 70
and even if you have road to 70, you will hit MSQ walls on the way to 80
so it's never a bad idea to do roulettes

@meager dagger Unless you have a specific Free Company ("guild") in mind to join, or care about the hunt (kill rare monsters as party) or marketboard (player market) scene, it doesn't matter. You can party up with anyone on Chaos, and do content with them. That being said, if you want to rp much, I recommend Omega, which has a fluorishing RP community.

Although it wasn’t asked, but for pretty much all gazes outside of the base game, you can turn away at the last second and should still dodge
Some gazes in the base game, mainly Angra Mainyu in World of Darkness and Melusine in T8 need you to wait for the game to actually tell you that you dodged the attack before facing the boss again

@verbal reef it certainly is very overwhelming with all the skills coming up. if you really want though, you can go through the dungeons from low to high. like start with lv16 dungeon and gradually increase the levels. so you get a sudo experience of "leveling up".
when you're in a low level dungeon, your levels get sync'd down and your skill availability will be at that level as well.

that's just mechanics, you just need to play more to understand them. GNB isn't harder then any other tanks in this regard.
people are usually nice enough. just say in the chat that you're new and ask if you need to know anything as soon as you get into the instance.
the difference between tanks are just their rotations and damage mitigation. basics of tanking like pulling aggro, tank swapping, etc are all the same.

Okay everyone, I got the complete edition on sale and I am stoked. I read the entire reddit post about servers but I am not sure if that is up to date anymore... The only thing home world selection really matters for is your Free Company (player guild) and player-owned housing.
The two biggest RP servers on Crystal are Balmung and Mateus. Both are highly congested so they’re currently locked for new character creation
But you can visit them through the world visit system very easily.

other dungeons that don't specify ilvl sync will have you sync'd to the highest possible ilvl for that dungeon level.

An ilvl sync is usually on lvl 50, 60, 70, or 80 dungeons where the max ilvl is often WAY above the minimum. So for example, a lvl 50 dungeon that ilvl syncs to 90 is going to limit you more than one that syncs to ilvl 120

if you want to get super technical, ilvl sync lowers all amounts of stats above that ilvl's max mainstat/meld amount to it, so if you have a lvl 50 i90 sync but a lvl 60 i270 piece with crit/dh then it will be a lvl 50 piece with crit and dh maxed out for that ilvl, when an i90 crit/dh piece would have maxed crit and like, half that amount of dh

There are a couple of ways to level alt jobs. My personal strategy is to sit in a city for two weeks to make sure my rested xp is capped, then do daily roulettes only until 71. After that, I’ll do mostly pixie beast tribe quests (~1/4 level per day), hunts if I feel like it, and either specific queue or Trust level 75 and 79 dungeons when those are my highest level available
It’s not fast, but it gets a job leveled in about 3 weeks give or take a bit

also @trim egret just to be clear, if you wouldn't be able to equip a piece of gear (wrong class, level restrictions etc) then you can't glamour it on your character either. For example, if you put a Bard hat and a Red Mage jacket into a template, then depending on your class, only the hat, only the jacket, or nothing would show
