From my experience they'd kinda just let you work out mechanics for yourself for the first time unless it's really important and then when you die then they explain the fight

Okay so I use an Xbox controller for my PC version of the game and for the last couple of days it seems like the controller is acting hinky that is to say sometimes it won't work at all and sometimes even when I stop moving with the controller I continue moving sometimes going in circles or if I'm in a menu cycling over and over again anybody know what the issue is

Firmament currently isn’t for leveling up gatherers
And it requires your crafters to be level 20 at minimum to participate in it
Crafters can be easily leveled up from 1-20 with the vendors in each of their guilds

all the mats should come from vendors, like Wynne said
anything that doesn't come from the guild vendor comes from the tradecraft vendor in any major city

The post-expansion content (ARR between Praetorium and Heavensward, for example) gives drastically reduced xp because it didn't give xp at all when it first came out.
And they don't want you to super outlevel the next expansion before you even get there.

Basically, once you pass the Praetorium in ARR, you're doing expansion patch MSQ stuff until you get to Heavensward. The sorts of loose end-tying and new story starting stuff necessary to wrap the current expansion and lead into the next.

You just use Flood/Edge whenever, and make sure you have enough left to pop TBN whenever you need it

So I'm finding in some boss fights, especially the ones in Copied Factory, that the particles from spells completely obscure the boss, and I can't even tell which direction they are facing for certain cone attacks. Is there a way to disable or tone down the effects ?

GC Squadron Tanks, decent enough to get through dungeons as a DPS? I wanna get the 5 runs to get Captain. Or should I just do it as a tank myself?

Squadron tanks are competent and almost unkillable. However they dont do mechanics well. For example they let dragons stand in poison pool. Its still clearable but may tilt you.
Also in squadron dungeons, every boss mechanic lands on you. As a DPS, you may get deleted if you are not paying attention.
Anyway, DPS is perfectly viable but its not a cakewalk.

Stat priorities are weird because everything is based on tiers. If you don't want to bother with all the big brain work you can use this simple priority system.
