Please consider adding some extra emphasis that the floor patches are for repairing and not just decoration. Maybe having the character comment with a speech bubble. Of course I feel silly now I’ve worked it out but the frustration was still there. I’m playing with controller in case that changed my experience a bit. Thanks.

There are two of those floor things. I don’t know which is which, but I always use the one from the workbench and after applying them they look sort of grey and you can walk over.
There is a other one, which I never tried and it says something with decoration
