I would love if we had the option to demolish furniture/crafting equipment we have built. I've sometimes built something then regretted it and it's now just on my roof. Does anyone know if there is this option in game at present, and I'm just missing it?

Open the building menu. At the bottom left there's a button for "destroy / demolish" or something like that.
