Z-fighting when hovering over a train track with a filler wagon

When hovering over a Rail with a Spacer Wagon placed on it, z-fighting occurs between the Wagon and the hover visual effect. This visual glitch does not happen with other Wagon types like Shape Wagon or Fluid Wagon, and does not occur when the Rail section is selected instead of hovered. The issue appears to be a rendering conflict where two surfaces occupy the same visual space, causing flickering or visual artifacts. HUB & Stations flicker "destroys Mesh"

The Vortex and Train Stations flicker and have mesh rendering issues where parts disappear. This occurs when placing a 3x3 Display and zooming out to view Space Platforms. The console shows "Mesh in AddInstance is null" errors related to CutterEntity rendering. Removing Crystal Generators appears to stop the flickering. The issue affects LOD levels 2 and 3 specifically, while LOD 0 and 1 render correctly.

Selecting a space belt causes lots of flickering

Selecting a Space Belt causes significant visual flickering on the screen. The issue appears to be related to z-fighting, where overlapping graphics conflict with each other. The problem was resolved by adding a camera bias to island blueprint rendering, similar to the offset used for Structures. This fix also corrected the same flickering issue that was affecting rails. After the fix, no flickering is observed when selecting Space Belts.

Space stations z-fight when layered above each other

Space Platforms z-fight when layered above each other. Structures have a pulse animation, but Space Platforms do not, causing visual flickering when trying to place the same Space Platform at the same location. The issue can be fixed by adding an animation to the platforms. A suggested code modification involves scaling only the xz-components and increasing the leading summand to reduce z-fighting during the pulse animation.

Zooming out removes Station borders & adds Fluid Glow

When zooming out to Space View, two visual issues occur with Train Stations placed on Fluid Asteroids. First, the Train Station borders disappear visually during the zoom transition. Second, the color glow at Extraction Spots becomes excessively bright. This affects both Asteroid Pump and Asteroid Miner stations. The issue is triggered by slowly zooming out from Machine View to Space View while observing a station on a fluid resource.

I also forgot to mention that this only happens when reasonably close to the spacer (not when zoomed out a lot)

Thank you for confirming that. I have a couple of runner-up questions:

  1. Are you running the game on directx11 or Vulkan?
  2. Does this occur with Space Platform settings set to Medium or lower?
