On macOS, game must be restarted one or two times until buttons are clickable
Done • Priority: Low • Fix: OLD Early Access • Resolution: Done
On macOS, shapez 2 must be restarted one or two times before buttons become clickable. This issue occurs on both M1 and M2 processors. The problem appears to be a Unity engine bug that affects macOS versions of the game. When the game first launches, UI buttons are unresponsive and require one or two full restarts before they function properly. This prevents normal gameplay until the restart workaround is applied.
starting mouse dragging super laggy on macOS
Done • Priority: Medium • Fix: None • Resolution: Won't Fix
On macOS, when starting a left click drag action, the game does not register mouse movement for approximately half a second, causing significant lag. The issue occurs specifically with left click dragging, while right click and middle click dragging work normally. The visual mouse position on screen moves smoothly, but the game's registered mouse position lags behind. This is a known macOS and Unity engine compatibility issue that also affects other games. Temporarily, relaunching the game or...
does it happen all the time or only one time
if it's only one time, it may just be because the window was unfocused
one click to focus, one click to click the button
it hapens all the time untill i restart the game
[Mac] double click bug
I commented in a different bug report on the same issue, but I'll copy it here:
I also have this bug on an M1 MacBook Pro, latest macOS.
To be more specific, every single action associated with left-click instead requires a double-click. Everything in the game does appear to be functional and right-click (secondary click) is not affected.
All menu options need double-click to be selected. During gameplay, actions such as click-and-drag to perform a selection or move the view across the map require double-click-and-drag. All interface buttons and elements require double-click to interact with.
It must be a double-click, not two separate clicks (with a gap between) nor two clicks in slightly different positions.
I have restarted the game several times, switched from fullscreen to borderless mode, and tried a controller with the mouse buttons mapped to it. In all instances, the game requires double-clicking everywhere a left-click is normally required.
i dont know what could be the issue
the game works fine for me on m2 pro macbook pro
Thats exactly what happens with me but it fixes itself when I close and reopen the game.
I'll try again but I gave it 5 or so attempts and gave up.

We have not been able to reproduce this in test. To see if we can narrow this down, I wanted to ask a few follow up questions:
- Are you using any third party mouse drivers?
- Have you changed any in-game mouse settings previously? Such as keybindings or using the system mouse vs in-game mouse cursor?
I know there has been issues reported on MacOS for other titles as well where similar issues happen if the mouse is clicked while a game is loading, but I am not sure if that is the case here or what the cause for it has been (that would not be title specific in those cases, but I also am unsure if it's hardware/software/OS issue).
Note, this was also asked in the Thread Mister Anderson mentioned. The main issue is we have not been able to reproduce this issue, so it's possible it's specific actions or interactions with other drivers causing the issue, but I'd like to narrow this down to see if it's something we can fix (or find a solution if it isn't).
Thank you,
Josh
I am not using 3rd party mouse drivers and have not changed mouse settings, if I encounter the bug again I will try and film it, what I can say is that it doesn’t happen very often.
✅ Thank you for providing further information, our team will have a look again!
If you have the issue again:
Can you try starting the game but not touching the mouse until the game is in the main menu?
If that doesn't work can you try cmd+tab and then click on the main desktop (not anything on the desktop, just the desktop in a clear area). Then cmd+tab back to the game?
Alright, I will give that a shot

I've had this issue myself on an M3 macos macbook. The fix is to swipe out of the game and swipe back to it. (Changing desktops). I don't know how to reproduce, but I'll keep an eye out and log anytime it happens and what was going on
I also have the same problem (M4 macbook air)
Has swiping away and swiping back fixed the issue for you?
i haven't gotten the issue recently but next time it happens ill try it LOL
