I decided to see what small mods had already been made on the workshop and subscribed to the following while the game was running:

I played vanilla as normal for a session then came back later and reopened the game. After accepting the warning regarding mods, which had not popped up before as I had subscribed to the workshop items and downloaded them using the steam overlay browser ingame, the game suffered a fatal error, with the stack attached. This error happens consistently when trying to move to the title screen after the introduction with the logos, and only stopped after I unsubscribed from every mod. I am willing to provide more information if this is not enough.
