#Closing a new game overwrites the old (if you don't change the name)

So idk if this is actually a bug or just I'm an idiot and did the wrong thing.
I was testing out the map gen settings and started a new certification and didn't realise that it went straight to the cert instead of the map/settings options. So, coz I was impatient, I closed the game from the taskbar.
When I launched it again, my first game profile had been replaced by that new game.

Is this a bug and should I report it?
Is there a way to get my saved game profile back?

I'm pretty sure that if I had of changed my saved game from the default it wouldn't have overwritten it but I just thought that the new game name would have had a number appended to it if there was a saved game already. And it might and this only occurred because of the way I closed the game.

When starting a new savegame, the game is not saved to disk until the first autosave occurs 5 minutes later. To reproduce, start a new Classic Mode save in the Regular scenario, return to the main menu, and select Play. The new savegame will be missing from the list because it was never saved. Expected behavior is that an autosave should occur immediately when first starting a new savegame. This was verified as fixed in build 1.0.0-beta-7.

Saving blueprints overwrites existing ones without warning

When saving a Blueprint and the filename already exists in the Blueprint Library, the game directly overwrites the existing Blueprint without displaying any warning message to the Operator. This occurs when creating a second Blueprint and attempting to save it with the same name as a previously saved Blueprint. The expected behavior would be to warn the player before overwriting to prevent accidental loss of saved layouts. A replacement message is now displayed to address this issue.

"Quit without saving" still prompted after saving

After saving the game, attempting to quit to desktop still displays a "Quit without saving?" prompt, even when the save button has been pressed multiple times. This occurs in larger savegames. The issue was caused by a save completion timer that was too short (10s), which has been fixed by increasing it to 120s to account for longer save times in large savegames.

Hey @woeful maple ! If you haven't deleted any of the saves, you should have all old savegames on the play menu, only continue is replaced with the last-loaded save

and the folder only shows 2 as well but i have the achieves - well some of them at least

And I'm pretty sure that my original save file was named something like 'Normal certification' i.e. it was not the default save name but I may be mistaken

Perhaps it has something to do with Steam Cloud. What's the current Steam Cloud's status in the Library?

I am definitely disheartened coz I do want all of the achievements and iirc at least 1 of them is to complete the normal cert.

But i'll move on to hard and/or manufacture mode and then come back to normal mode. I still need to learn how to do train stations XD not to mention MAMs

Heya, apologies for the delay. Obviously I can't provide the save game file as it no longer exists (I checked my recycle bin just in case and it's not there either - although I can't recall if I cleared it after this issue). The player log is attached.

Thankfully it hasn't happened again but I've also made sure to re-name my game files just in case.

Thanks for the update. Ok so its not related to that.
How much available hard drive space do you have? We have had a few reports that have ended with file corruption because there was limited space on their drives.
