#[SPZ2-6278] [1.0.3-rc3] Filters don't update the output

I don't exactly know if this is something like a bug but an un expected outcome. Basically when I use filters and separate 2 shapes from the same conveyor belt into 2 different ones using a filter, the output still shows in both separated conveyor belts both shapes, even tho now they are just 1 type of shape in that conveyor belt.

Don't know if this is intended or something to fix, but for now it's confusing, like I feel something's wrong

In the screenshots you can see how the structure of the patforms are exactly the same and in the north part everything's comming perfectly divided, but still showing both different parts as output.

Previews of non-reaching shapes are being shown on a platform when sharing the same space belt
Done โ€ข Priority: Critical โ€ข Fix: 1.0 Release [1.0.0] โ€ข Game: 0.0.9-rc7 โ€ข Resolution: Done

Shape Previews are incorrectly displayed on a Space Platform that does not actually receive those shapes. This occurs when multiple Asteroid Miners share the same Space Belt but only one miner's output reaches a particular platform. The preview system shows all shapes on the shared belt regardless of actual routing. To reproduce: connect two Asteroid Miners via one Space Belt, route only one miner's output to a platform, and observe that previews for both shapes appear on that platform. The i...

Belt filters are not showing previews
Done โ€ข Priority: High โ€ข Fix: 1.0 Release [1.0.0] โ€ข Resolution: Done

Belt Filters are not displaying Shape Previews when shapes pass through them. The issue occurs on any Conveyor Belt connected to a Belt Filter in any game mode or difficulty. Shape Previews disappear specifically when going through Belt Filters, but the issue does not occur with Belt Readers or Overflow Splitters. The expected behavior is that Shape Previews should remain visible when shapes go through a Belt Filter. This issue was resolved through prediction refactoring.

New predictions show before a belt filter but not after
Done โ€ข Priority: High โ€ข Fix: None โ€ข Resolution: Duplicate

Shape Previews stop displaying after passing through a Belt Filter, even though they show correctly before reaching it. This occurs in Classic Mode when placing a Belt Filter on a conveyor line - the preview system appears to be blocked by the filter structure. The expected behavior is that Shape Previews should continue to display after Belt Filters, showing the predicted shapes based on the filter's configured Signal input. This makes it difficult to visualize what items will pass through t...

Shape preview (belts) is sometimes incorrect
Done โ€ข Priority: Low โ€ข Fix: 1.0 Release [1.0.0] โ€ข Resolution: Done

Shape previews on conveyor belts sometimes display incorrect shapes when the source signal changes. When using a Signal Producer to feed Belt Launchers, some belts fail to update their preview even after several minutes, while others update correctly. The previews can be manually refreshed by hovering over the Belt Launcher with another structure without placing it. The issue affects any Belt Launcher, not just those connected to The Vortex. This bug has been marked as obsolete due to predict...

Predictions show wrong output
Done โ€ข Priority: High โ€ข Fix: Dimension Update [0.1.0] โ€ข Game: 0.1.0-pre4-rc1 โ€ข Resolution: Done

Shape Previews show incorrect Output on Machine Platforms / Space Platforms larger than 1x1. The predictions display multiple different Shapes that would be produced, but this does not match the actual Output. The issue was caused by a coordinate lookup problem in platforms larger than 1x1. Shape Previews used to work correctly before, so this was a regression. The bug has been fixed and predictions now display correctly.

Predictions are stopping at the conveyor belt just before flow control buildings
Done โ€ข Priority: High โ€ข Fix: 1.0 Release [1.0.0] โ€ข Resolution: Fix Verified

Shape Previews stop at the Conveyor Belt immediately before flow control Machines. This affects all three flow control Machines: Belt Reader, Belt Filter, and Pipe Gate. The Previews do not continue moving forward on the connected Conveyor Belt or Pipe after passing through these Machines. The issue occurs in any Game Mode and Scenario when flow control Machines are placed in a factory setup. Expected behavior is that Shape Previews should continue flowing past these Machines to show the pred...

Not great once belt filters are involved but still technically by design.

So should this be a suggestion more than a bug report, or can this be considered intended as a feature for extra complexity?

tired sparrow
#

It's not intended that you are seeing false results. My thinking is that perhaps shape previews should be blocked if belt filters are used.

#

With the current way that they work.

glad parrot
#

Well, that could be something, I also detected that if you use any machine after filters, the shape preview goes wild and scalates in every posible shape mixing every result involved, so it can be exponential in every use
