Shape Preview allows and displays 5 quaters (CuCuCuCuCu)
Done โข Priority: Low โข Fix: OLD Early Access โข Resolution: Won't Fix
The Shape Preview / Shape Previews / Predictions system incorrectly allows and displays a Shape / Item / Resource with 5 Shape Quarters / Quarters / Quadrants (represented by the Shape Code / Shape String "CuCuCuCuCu"). Regular Shapes / Items should only support a maximum of 4 Shape Quarters / Quarters / Quadrants per Shape Layer / Layer. When attempting to create a Shape / Item with 6 Shape Quarters / Quarters / Quadrants (CuCuCuCuCuCu), the system correctly shows an error message as intende...
The preview underneath the Hexagonal mode shows a Quarter Circle preview.
Done โข Priority: Medium โข Fix: Dimension Update [0.1.0] โข Resolution: Done
The shape preview displayed underneath the Hexagonal scenario shows a Quarter Circle preview instead of a hexagon shape. This incorrect preview appears in the game mode selection or scenario interface. The issue causes visual inconsistency, as players should see a hexagon-shaped preview that matches the Hexagonal scenario they are selecting. The expected behavior is for the preview to display a hexagon shape rather than a Quarter Circle. This has been fixed in the latest version.
Shape viewer doesn't show error message when entering invalid code
Done โข Priority: Low โข Fix: OLD Early Access โข Resolution: Done
The Shape Inspector does not display an error message when the user enters an invalid Shape Code. When an invalid code is entered into the Shape Inspector, no feedback is provided to inform the user that the code is malformed or unrecognized. The expected behavior would be for the Shape Inspector to show an error message indicating that the entered Shape Code is invalid, helping users understand why their input is not producing a visible shape.
Shape can overlay the controls in some instances within the Shape Viewer
To Do โข Priority: Low โข Fix: None
In the Shape Inspector, very large Shapes with many Shape Layers can overlay and hide the viewer controls, making them inaccessible. This occurs when Shapes have a high number of layers stacked vertically. Additionally, when layer count is extremely high, the bottom Shape Layers appear orange or yellow as if rendered below a fog effect. The controls should remain visible and accessible regardless of Shape size. This may become more problematic when Mods are added to the game.

Item Producers and Signal Producers can be configured for shapes with more layers than are supported during gameplay.
Done โข Priority: Medium โข Fix: None โข Resolution: Not A Bug
Signal Producers and item producers can be configured with shapes that have more shape layers than the current game mode supports. In Classic Mode Regular scenario, entering a shape code with 14 shape layers into an item producer causes it to produce a 14-layer shape, exceeding the expected maximum. The same issue occurs with Signal Producers. Expected behavior is that these machines should limit shapes to the number of shape layers supported by the active game mode. A developer noted this be...
Shape viewer uses ortographic instead of perspective camera, thus distorting the shapes
Done โข Priority: Lowest โข Fix: OLD Early Access โข Resolution: Done
The Shape Inspector uses an orthographic camera instead of a perspective camera, which causes Shapes to appear distorted. This affects how Shapes are visually rendered in the Shape Inspector view. The issue impacts the visual accuracy of Shape representation, making them look different from how they should appear with proper perspective rendering. This was reportedly updated after being discussed.
some other strange shapes i made with this bug, just found out that it isnt even number exclusive, 2 and odd numbers work as well
the shape viewer is intentionally permissive to allow you to make cool looking shapes, the glitched visuals is just Z-fighting because the shape parts overlap each other, I don't think you can fix this without creating other issues
oh , ok , i tought it would be something like that bc of the hex mode
its cool that the viwer is made to be so flexible
if the devs add new shapes or a someone makes a mod to add new shapes the viwer can support them more easily, and even 8,5 and 3 sided ones only need a size adjustment to fit perfectly like the hex ones
thanks for the answer btw
have a nice day!
Thanks for reporting this issue even if it didn't end up a bug.
