#[1.0.0-beta-6] Machine view of level 1 platform is obscured by upper levels.

When platforms/foundations overlap each other, a ghost of the platforms/pipes/belts at levels 2 and 3 obscure anything on level 1 - even when the single-layer visibility is toggled on. This differs from the visibility behavior of the Machine View of a platform's own levels.
Furthermore, in a recent beta, a "circle of visibility" was added that honestly makes the rest of the level harder to see.

PRECONDITION:

  • Have both Space levels 2 and 3 available

REPRODUCTION:

  • Place platforms on level 1 in a few locations
  • Place platforms on levels 2 and/or 3 over the previous platforms
  • Optionally: place pipes/belts/manufacture machines at higher levels over the platforms
  • Zoom into the Machine view of the level 1 platforms, placing a bunch of machines on the platform
  • Move between Space and Machine view, observing the changes in visibility
  • At Space View, use the V key, and observe that items on other levels are still partially visible

Top level transparency too low when hiding top levels with 'V' key in game.
Done β€’ Priority: Critical β€’ Fix: 1.0 Release [1.0.0] β€’ Game: 1.0.0-alpha5-rc2 β€’ Resolution: Fix Verified

When using the "V" keybinding to hide top machine levels, the transparency effect is too low, making it difficult to see through hidden levels to build beneath them. This occurs in savegames with multiple machine levels after pressing "V" to toggle level visibility. The issue significantly impacts players because the visibility shader is too opaque, preventing effective building on lower levels. Expected behavior is that hidden levels become sufficiently transparent for clear visibility of le...

Conveyor belts and machines show as bright when focused on higher space levels
Done β€’ Priority: High β€’ Fix: 1.0 Release [1.0.0] β€’ Resolution: Fix Verified

Conveyor Belts and machines appear fully bright when viewed on higher machine levels, instead of being darkened to indicate they are on a lower level. The issue occurs when zooming out slowly after placing structures and switching levels. At certain camera distances, the lower level-of-detail shader does not properly apply the level visibility darkening. Machines on other levels should remain darkened regardless of camera distance. The fix updated the simplified building shader to use the cor...

Layer 1 Belts bottom visible on Layer 0 only view
Done β€’ Priority: Low β€’ Fix: OLD Early Access β€’ Resolution: Done

When placing Conveyor Belts on Level 1 of a machine and then viewing Level 0 in Level-only view mode (activated by pressing L), the bottom of the Level 1 belts incorrectly remains visible as visual artifacts. This is a rendering issue where belt geometry from higher machine levels bleeds through into the isolated view of lower levels. The expected behavior is that Level-only view should display only the selected level without showing any parts of structures from other levels.

Layer visibility produces artifacts on buildings
Done β€’ Priority: Medium β€’ Fix: OLD Early Access β€’ Resolution: Done

When using Layer visibility features to hide or show different Machine Levels, visual artifacts appear on Structures. The artifacts were particularly noticeable on Conveyor Belts and various Machines. As of Alpha 14, many artifacts have been fixed on Conveyor Belts and most Structures. However, some minor visual artifacts still remain visible on Conveyor Belts at Level 1, though they may require rotating the camera to specific angles to observe them. The issue affects the visual rendering of ...

Level visibility is disabled automatically when changing between space and build mode
Done β€’ Priority: High β€’ Fix: 1.0 Release [1.0.0] β€’ Resolution: Not A Bug

Toggling level visibility off (using the default keybinding 'V') to hide elements such as a machine platform in Space View or Machine View resets automatically to ON when switching between Space View and Machine View. The reporter expected hidden elements to remain hidden until manually toggled. This was closed as not a bug, as the behavior is by design to prevent players from forgetting they disabled level visibility.

Space belt items disappear if on higher floors
Done β€’ Priority: High β€’ Fix: 1.0 Release [1.0.0] β€’ Resolution: Fix Verified

Shapes on Space Belts disappear visually when placed on a higher machine level. To reproduce, place a Space Belt on the second level and fill it with shapes, then place a Belt Lift going down and switch to the lowest level. The shapes on the higher-level Space Belt become hidden while the belt itself remains visible. Expected behavior is that shapes should remain visible on Space Belts above the current level. This bug has been verified as fixed.

At the Machine View, within the scope of a single foundation, you don't see the other layers when you toggle the visibility to a single layer. I expect the same when you toggle visibility on the Space View

Having the faded platforms/objects on the upper levels make it difficult to make any changes in level 1.

I do have a problem with the way the see through is shown though.

I'd be fine with a setting added.
