The following train parts can be mirrored, but the mirror inverse key does not work on them:

  • Wagon Loaders
  • Wagon Unloaders
  • Rail Loop

Steps to reproduce

  • Select one of the above components
  • Pressing the F key mirrors the component to the left/right of the rail
  • Pressing Shift+F does nothing

Additional thoughts

I assume the root of this problem is that Mirroring rail components works differently than the rest of the game. Everywhere else mirroring a component will mirror it north/south while 'mirror inverse' mirrors the component east/west. This is a problem for players who swap the key-bindings for mirror and 'mirror inverse'.

I prefer mirroring east/west to be the default, hence why I swapped the key-binds.

I don't know if it makes more sense to make rail components work like other components and always mirror north/south and 'mirror inverse' east/west, have 'mirror inverse' reverse the direction of the track, or have it simply do the same thing as mirror specifically for rail components.

Blueprint mirror action not same as building placement

Cannot mirror shape buildings

The Keybinding for Mirroring Structures does not work correctly on certain Buildings. When attempting to Mirror a Machine that can be rotated, such as a Cutter, by pressing the default Keybinding F, the Structure is not rotated as expected. This occurs in Classic Mode when using enable cheats. Building Variants can still be rotated normally, and Space Platforms containing only that single Machine can also be rotated. The issue is caused by a type assignment error in the placement input system.
