The new liquid predictions treat conveyor belts like they are pipes

When a fluid Signal Producer is connected to a Conveyor Belt, the Shape Previews system incorrectly displays paint predictions at the end of the belt, treating it like a Pipe. This occurs in Classic Mode when using cheats to place incompatible connections between fluid producers and belts. Shape Previews incorrectly transfer between Space Belts and Space Pipes when they are connected. Shape Previews on a Space Belt can travel down a Space Pipe, and vice versa. The expected behavior is that shape Shape Previews should only travel down Space Belts, and fluid Shape Previews should only travel down Space Pipes. This can be reproduced in Classic Mode on a Regular scenario with cheats enabled.

The Belt Catcher / Belt Receiver incorrectly shows a shape preview expecting fluid from a Space Pipe / Platform Pipe. This is a display bug in the prediction system where the machine preview does not match the actual input type - belts should handle shapes while pipes handle fluids. The issue causes visual confusion as the preview suggests the Belt Catcher will receive fluid when it can only process shapes. This appears to be a straightforward fix according to QA notes.

The direction in which a Pipe is built affects Shape Previews in Painters. When Pipes are built in the normal flow direction towards a Painter, the Shape Preview appears on the Conveyor Belt below. However, if the Pipe is built in the opposite direction, the Painter shows no Shape Preview. This issue was tested in version 1.0.0-alpha1 and was later marked as obsolete due to prediction refactoring. A savegame and blueprint were provided for reproduction.

When merging Space Pipes on a Space Platform, the Shape Previews at Outputs do not correctly display all possible shapes from the merged pipe contents. The same issue occurs with merged Space Belts not showing correct predictions at their outputs. This affects the player's ability to see what items will come out of merged transport lines. The issue was marked as unable to reproduce in the latest build and became obsolete after prediction system refactoring was completed.
