FYI disabling Shape Previews has no affect. (Graphics set to Medium btw)
For me, something happened after Alpha 3 which caused various things to be slow: loading, wire editing, unpausing after wire editing, pasting.
Savegames help a lot π
Mine are either attached to my bugs or Anth has them. π

Can you supply the save for testing?
Yeah, have it in a bit...
Game stutters every second for a second...

Have you tried disabling parallel rendering?
Just did. Will save and reload and check...
No difference. Still lags for one second every second (same for 'Minimum, low and Medium settings). I'm just going to assume there's something in my computer setup that won't run the game correctly, since no one else seems to have the issues I have.
Hmm weird. Maybe also the next build brings some improvements
@viscid wyvern would it be possible to get a player log for this?
@viscid wyvern Can you supply your settings file (and the log file where this happened would be helpful too)?
Let me see what I can scare up...
β Thank you for providing further information, our team will have a look again!

Multiple failed assertion notifications are displayed when loading a specific save with 540K machines.
To Do β’ Priority: Critical β’ Fix: None
Loading a savegame containing 540K machines triggers over 20 failed assertion notifications in the console log. This occurs on the master build when importing and loading the specific save file, which takes a minute or two to load. The issue does not reproduce on Alpha 5, though both builds show multiple failed allocations at the end of the log. Expected behavior is that the game runs without errors. The issue reproduces consistently at a rate of 5 out of 5 attempts.
Massive performance issues (possibly due to fluid predictions)
Done β’ Priority: Highest β’ Fix: 4 - Early Access β’ Resolution: Done
The game experiences severe performance issues including massive lag, FPS drops, and complete freezing that occurs suddenly during gameplay. The issue appears to be related to fluid Shape Previews on Conveyor Belts. The performance degradation is so severe it makes the game uncomfortable or unplayable. Multiple users have reported this same issue. A temporary workaround exists by switching to simple prediction mode, though this reduces the accuracy of fluid predictions.
Building conflicts can cause significant lag
Done β’ Priority: High β’ Fix: 4 - Early Access β’ Game: 0.0.0-alpha23 β’ Resolution: Done
When there are a large number of Structure conflicts, significant lag occurs. The issue is triggered when copying and pasting large amounts of Structures, particularly when copying entire Space Platform contents. The lag happens because the game calculates conflicts between all overlapping Structures, even though a simpler approach of just checking if Structures exist at the same time could be used. The performance issue is noticeable with hundreds of thousands of Structures, and occurs regar...
Big savefiles have very long loading times and cause the game to freeze if it's minimized while loading
To Do β’ Priority: Medium β’ Fix: 1.0 Release [1.0.0] β’ Game: 0.1.1
Large savegames with over 500,000 structures experience very long loading times in shapez 2. When the game is minimized during loading in borderless mode, it appears to freeze and may show a "stopped working" error message, though it will eventually load if given enough time. The loading widget stops spinning during longer loads, making players think the game has crashed. Testing showed that loading times have increased in newer builds, with borderless mode taking significantly longer when fo...
π¬ Threads: [0.1.1][Windows] Freezes when quitting
Game lags when zooming out or in (transition between viewmodes)
Done β’ Priority: High β’ Fix: 4 - Early Access β’ Game: 0.0.0-alpha23 β’ Resolution: Done
The game experiences lag and freezing when transitioning between view modes (Machine View, Space Platform, and Space View) in nightly builds. The lag can extend beyond one second, during which the game appears frozen but continues processing in the background, causing the camera to jump position after the freeze ends. The issue is more pronounced when scrolling with WASD during zoom transitions. Loading savegames sometimes causes the game window to crash temporarily before recovering. Autosav...
Predictions still produce lag spikes
Done β’ Priority: High β’ Fix: 4 - Early Access β’ Game: 0.0.0-alpha23.1 β’ Resolution: Done
Shape Previews still cause significant performance issues and lag spikes when dragging items around in the game. The problem is triggered by having very long Space Belts (around 4000 tiles) in the Savegame, which generates excessive garbage collection taking 60ms even without deep profiling. When the Space Platform with the long belt is in view, the game becomes unplayable due to the preview calculation overhead. The lag is severe enough to make normal gameplay impossible when these condition...

@viscid wyvern Set Simulation Threads to Auto should fix the issue.
