'NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object' happens for 0.0.7 + 0.0.8 blueprints if they have space belts or space pipes and then they don't show in the Blueprint Library
Done β’ Priority: Highest β’ Fix: 1.0 Release [1.0.0] β’ Game: 0.0.7 β’ Resolution: Fix Verified
Blueprints created in version 0.0.7 or 0.0.8 that contain Space Belts or Space Pipes fail to appear in the Blueprint Library due to a NullReferenceException during deserialization. The error occurs when the game attempts to read these blueprint files, causing them to be invisible in the library even though the files exist in the Windows directory. Players cannot access or place these blueprints until the issue is resolved. The expected behavior is that blueprints from previous versions should...
Crash reported by user after new update
Done β’ Priority: Medium β’ Fix: None β’ Resolution: Cannot Reproduce
A player experiences repeated game crashes after updating to version 0.1.0. The crashes occur within minutes of starting a new Normal difficulty save, typically after completing one or two milestones. Log analysis reveals a SerializationJsonException when reading a blueprint file and NullReferenceException errors during deserialization. The issue appears to be caused by incompatibility between save files from version 0.0.8 and 0.1.0. The problem was resolved when the player deleted the old sa...
Left Shift key does not function ingame
To Do β’ Priority: Low β’ Fix: None
The Left Shift key does not function properly as a keybinding in shapez 2. When binding either Left Shift or Right Shift to game actions like toolbar selection or building rotation, only the Right Shift key works in-game. If Left Shift and Right Shift keybindings are mirrored in settings, using Left Shift will trigger the Right Shift action and vice versa. This prevents players from using the Left Shift key for any game controls, forcing them to rely only on Right Shift for all keybinding fun...
Shift Q and shift E can't place space belt lifts or space pipe lifts
Done β’ Priority: Medium β’ Fix: Probably Never β’ Resolution: Won't Fix
When placing Space Belts or Space Pipes in Classic Mode, using Shift+Q or Shift+E does not create vertical lifts between machine levels, unlike using Q or E alone which works correctly. The issue occurs when holding Shift while pressing Q or E to place lifts. Players expect Shift+Q and Shift+E to function the same as Q and E for creating lifts. The game does not recognize Shift+Q/E as the same keybinding as Q/E alone, so this behavior is intentional and will not be fixed.
π¬ Threads: [0.1.1] cannot place space belt lift via
Space layer is change when pressing SHIFT+E/Q while placing a blueprint in game.
To Do β’ Priority: High β’ Fix: None
When placing a blueprint in shapez 2 Classic Mode, pressing SHIFT+E or SHIFT+Q causes the game to switch between machine levels unexpectedly. To reproduce, enter placement mode with a blueprint (e.g., via CTRL+V), hold SHIFT, and press E or Q. The machine level view changes when it should not. Expected behavior is that machine level switching should be disabled while placing a blueprint.
π¬ Threads: Shift + E/Q switches space layers while
Blueprints with locked parts won't place unlocked parts when holding down the shift key
Done β’ Priority: Highest β’ Fix: 1.0 Release [1.0.0] β’ Resolution: Fix Verified
When placing a Blueprint containing both unlocked and locked structures, holding down the shift key prevents the entire Blueprint from being placed, including the unlocked parts. To reproduce, start a new Classic Mode savegame in the Regular scenario and attempt to place a Blueprint that includes unlocked Space Belts and a locked 2x2 Machine Platform while holding shift. The expected behavior is that unlocked parts should still be placed even when the Blueprint contains locked structures. Thi...
