Crystals in shapes sparkle and blink weirdly with Post Processing on
Done • Priority: High • Fix: 1.0 Release [1.0.0] • Game: 0.1.0-pre6-rc1 • Resolution: Duplicate
Crystals in shapes sparkle and blink weirdly when Post Processing is enabled in the Graphics settings. The issue is caused by the shape shader outputting NaN values, which causes the bloom blur to break. The bloom effect exaggerates the visual problem. The issue was reported with specific shapes containing crystals and occurs when players are close enough that Space Belt visualizations are not showing. This is a long-standing visual bug that affects shapes with the Crystal mechanic.
[RECESS] Converter Shape + Crystal Shape Shaders
Done • Priority: Medium • Fix: 1.0 Release [1.0.0] • Resolution: Done
This is an internal development task, not a bug report. The graphics designer created new shaders for Refined Shapes and Crystal Shapes that needed art team review. The shaders were implemented on a specific branch, reviewed via a reference video, approved by the art team, merged to master, and verified by QA. The task has been completed successfully.
Converter and crystal shapes are shown as flat colors in the train visualization shader
To Do • Priority: High • Fix: 1.0 Release [1.0.0]
Refined shapes and crystal shapes are displayed as flat colors in the train visualization shader instead of using their actual shaders. The issue occurs when these shape types are being transported and rendered on trains. The expected behavior is that refined shapes and crystals should appear with their proper visual shaders, matching how they look elsewhere in the game.
Mixer has strange normals
To Do • Priority: Low • Fix: None
The Color Mixer machine has incorrect surface normals on its 3D model. The visual artifact is visible when viewing the large mixing tank from shallow angles due to how reflections are rendered. This is a minor graphical issue that does not affect gameplay or functionality. The bug can be observed by examining the machine's appearance from different camera angles, particularly at shallow viewing angles where the surface normals cause unusual reflection behavior.
Crystals generate flicker on shapes while transported
To Do • Priority: High • Fix: 1.0 Release [1.0.0]
Crystals on Shapes / Items cause visual flickering / white flashes when transported on Conveyor Belts / Belts at significant distances from The Vortex / Hub (approximately 20+ superchunks away from the center of the map). The flickering appears as white flashes emanating from the center of the Shapes. This is caused by floating point imprecision in the game engine and becomes increasingly noticeable the farther away from the map center the Shapes are transported. The issue affects visual rend...

Crystals look melted in the shape viewer
Done • Priority: Medium • Fix: 1.0 Experimental • Resolution: Fix Verified
Crystals appear distorted with melted-looking edges in the Shape Inspector when viewing certain shapes. The issue can be reproduced by opening a Classic Mode save, clicking on the milestone shape at the top left, entering the shape code "cccbcycg", and rotating the view with the middle mouse button. The crystal edges should have the same texture and color quality as the rest of the shape but instead look melted. This was caused by outdated shader rendering and normal artifacts in the mesh, wh...
Another example...
This is at the very beginning of the game. The "burnt" black exotic shapes look golden / yellow from almost all angles. This might confuse players who who are looking for the shape shown as the goal shape that appears more black.
Perhaps changing it to a different texture that was less shiny or had some other distinguishing marking (scuff marks?) would help.
I think the shape would benefit from being less reflective
because I had a lot of issues distinguishing Xu from Xw, and those are both shapes you see a lot of at the start of the game
🎫 Many thanks for reporting this issue! We have created an internal ticket for further investigation and will keep you updated. The internal ticket ID is SPZ2-5775 for reference. If you want to provide further information, just comment on this thread.
[SPZ2-5775] [1.0.0-alpha3-rc1] The Xk shape has a weird reflection
Also affects black (white) crystals in CMYK mode.
Thanks. Added it to the internal ticket.
