So I just got the game today. This is the second time this happened. I tried to get this done before but didn't get to screenshot it or copy it to my clipboard. I don't understand what this means or why it's happening. My other games work no problem. If any one has answers I would appreciate it, thank you. I also don't know if this is where I'm supposed to post this lol but it is what it is.

uhhh, do you have the game pirated? It's saying that steam isn't running and/or that you don't own the game. If you didn't pirate it, maybe check if steam is running when booting up the game

Steam is running. Idk how to even pirate games. This is why I'm asking for help. I don't understand.

just "play shapez 2", the other 2 change the ways the game renders and can improve performance. You might want to try verifying install or redownloading the game. If those don't work, ig just wait for someone more competent to help you

Thanks for reporting this issue 🙂
We were able to reproduce this issue with some nonpublic builds in steam if steam was closed and using the executable directly from the installation folder, but not with the latest public release (0.1.1) which forces steam to start before the game starts.
Did the information in https://discord.com/channels/1000343719314198548/1201822000037765160 help?
i.e. adding --disable-store-sdk to the command line for the game.
