What Am I Misreading Here?

Just unlocked painting again and toying around to remember stuff.
On the right side of the first screenshot - "You need 4 fluid launchers per pipe".

I'm using 1 launcher with 1 pipe and 4 pumps, shown in the second screenshot.
Back to the first screenshot, I'm using 1 launcher/catcher to fill 4 painters, to paint 1 full belt. Paint never dries out, shapes and painters keep running.

What am I misreading in "You need 4 fluid launchers per pipe"..?

the wording is a bit misleading, it means : if you have a full pipe of paint, you need 4 launchers to handle the whole throughput, so if you have only 1 launcher of throughput then you'll be using the pipe at 1/4th of its capacity but it will work fine
