#Strange bug that does not allow me to play the game

I just finished shapez 1 and got extremely hyped for shapez 2. But I can't even get out of the main menu. It is as if the game is auto clicking my mouse. When I open a setting, it instantly closes the options again, selecting one at random. It does that with every setting. It also does that in the main menu and with a new game. I cannot play the game because whatever I click (Extractor, Belt, etc) it either unselects it or auto places them for me. No, I am not using any hotkey software, any auto clickers or anything else. It has to stem from the game itself

Others on Mac have had the opposite issue, so it could be a similar problem. I would try restarting steam and / or the computer (if you haven't already).

I have done all of that.
Restart game
Restart PC
Reinstall game
Without a plugged in mouse (just with the keyboard)
Without a keyboard (just mouse)
Starting different versions (Standard, vulkan etc)
Starting in safe mode
WIndowed
Fullscreen
Delete appdata

Thank you for your report @slate haven ! 😄

Do you have any other periferics that might be inputting something, like a controller, connected?

Curious... What is your current desktop resolution? Does the Windows resolution match the Monitor's resolution?

2k. I have even played around with different resolutions and switched to and old 1080p screen. Still no change

And is this occurring on latest steam version 0.1.1?

Yes sir

I tried it now on my wife's pc and encounter the same problem

#

No idea what it could be. At this point I will probably jsut refund it and hope that it changes in the future when it is out of early access

I understand. We'd like to help you further but there's never been a report on what might cause this desync on clicking specific buttons in game, if it's not resolution or additional peripherals, let alone that it only occurs on two PC on your household. I might start suspecting that it could be related to Windows 10 should that be the case, but that would require further testing.

We'd like to keep working on this ticket to get to the root of this issue, but get that you might prefer a refund, and we apologize for any inconvenience this might cause

I would prefer a solution to the problem over a refund every single time. I would also like to do more testing, but obviously need to be careful not to run into the time limit for refund eligibility. I have two more ideas, but when those fail, I won't really know anymore
