#[0.1.1. linux] Some shapes not rendering in milestones/tasks

Some shapes you're supposed to build do not render in the milestones or tasks menu (including the active/pinned milestones/tasks).

When you click them (or rather the empty spot) and the detailed view opens, they are visible, but the preview stays invisible.

The bug doesn't appear to be savegame specific, as I could reproduce it in a new run as well.

I tried reloading the savegame with no effect and restarting the game resulting in different shapes (not) rendering then before.

The bug appears to be linux (native) specific although, as I couldn't reproduce it when I switched to proton.

System information:
OS: Arch Linux (6.15.6-arch1-1)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3950X
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT
DE: KDE Plasma 6.4.3 (Wayland)

I hope this helps

Thank you for your report @sinful temple ! πŸ˜„

We've had a similar report on #1379138564893184151 and the issue seems to be driver related. Are your drivers up to date?

thanks for your response. I will verify this later.
I hope I didn't open a report just because of an outdated driver πŸ˜…

hi, I just updated my system with the latest packages (and restarted), and there were even some vulkan related packages included. Unfortunately the issue persists.

For reference here are the installed versions of related packages:

$ pacman -Q linux mesa vulkan-radeon
linux 6.15.7.arch1-1
mesa 1:25.1.6-1
vulkan-radeon 1:25.1.6-1

I also tried different graphics settings with no success.

I grabbed you the latest vulkaninfo after the update and got the Player.log. I intentionally only started the game and loaded directly into the savegame where the issue is instantly visible and quit the game right after to reduce irrelevant logs.

Tell me, if you need any other info from my end.

I just checked and I can also reproduce this bug with the Windows/Proton version when selecting the vulkan launch option. It does not occur with Proton and DX11 / DX12

#

one more thing: I installed the game on Windows (same computer) and launched with the Vulkan option.
It's not reproducible there.
Windows is using the 25.6.1 AMD driver

Thank you for checking that out! πŸ˜„

We've had the same report on the other case that it's only occurring in Vulkan with Linux. First thing in the morning I'll share all this with the team and get back to you as soon as I have some answers. In the meantime, I'd recommend launching shapes2 in dx11 to avoid this issue πŸ™‚
