#[0.1.0-pre6-rc1] Previously selected parts are still in the clipboard after selecting a blueprint

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Place a foundation and zoom in
  2. Place a few stackers and turn them into a blueprint called 1TestBlueprint and delete them from the foundation
  3. Select a half destroyer and place on the foundation
  4. Press B and select the blueprint called 1TestBlueprint
  5. Place on the foundation
  6. Move the mouse pointer away from the newly placed parts from the blueprint

Observed:
After placing a part and then pressing B or the Blueprint Library button to select a blueprint, the blueprint isn't saved into the clipboard and the previous part is still placeable.

Expected:
When a part is selected from the Blueprint library, that the selected part is now copied for additional placement.

Additional Information:

  • Both parts are also shown graphicly before attempted placement. The attached picture shows part of a rail + 4 foundations, when it should just show the 4 foundations (the only parts in the blueprint. (Rail was previously placed part)
  • happens for both foundation editing (e.g. stacker) and mapview editing (e.g. train track)
  • Doesn't happen when placed using the toolbar

If I understand correctly, the request is that when you select a blueprint from the library, it's also copied to the clipboard so you can paste it again with Ctrl + V ?

Yes. But also after placing the blueprint that I can then place another of the same blueprint.

#

That I would say is how it should be working, or thought it worked for the last major release.

#

So basically make the interaction with pressing B or the Blueprint Library button end up the same as the hotbar.

Last major release. Sorry I mean the current official version.

This bug appears to have caused this to happen:

#

That rail track shouldn't be in the middle of the blueprint I placed.

#

Oh. Because I somehow double clicked. I didn't realise until I saw a shape loader empty.

Hi @fast hornet !

Thank you for your report! 😄

We've been doing some updates on the BP system to try to minimize awkwardness. On current master builds whenever you now place any BP it will remain on your clipboard and can be pasted again, as well as being able to continue pasting it without having to reselect it

In addition, the toolbar now remains open after selecting any BP and the BP menu (default key "B") now focuses back on the previously selected BP.

Does this cover the extent of this post or did I miss} something?
