I've created a ticket for this issue in our internal system for further investigation
If find this bug very natrual. Normal (in-platform) pipes can carry 4x the amount of the launcher, compared to the belt. So it would make sense that space pipes would carry several times more than space belts.
what is the intended amount? 4 launchers per channel (to have parity with belts) or the old 6 launchers per channel?
We just have to pray this doesnt get fixed so we wont have to overhaul our factories
you don't have to fix your factories if you still assume the old throughput 😉
Did this bug also affect the speed in which Fluid Loaders/Unloaders process wagons?
I would guess not. The rate of transfer of train packages is probably the same. But since the rate of fluid transfer to space pipes is 4x, the station could consume more packages than before.

well that’s quite the surprise. I didn’t encounter any guidance in game for the throughput of space pipes, so I did my own math. Then someone tells me that actually this is a bug and I shouldn’t rely on it.
Reportedly, this will no longer be fixed and is now accidentally by design.
then they need to update the tool tips to reflect that. currently they say 4 pumps to fully fill space pipe.
