i think the 3 space belts combined splitting off to 3 is the most interesting cause all 3 end up running 89%
but they look full
Interesting test. I guess I run full spacebelts everywhere so I haven't been splitting/merging them to notice this.
i believe it happens at normal belts too
Hmmm, let me set that up...
i had thought about putting my factory as a bp to show what happens with it but.. id rather not tbh lol
i noticed even zman layer makers got incosistent tho
Ummm, these don't seem to be working in the beta...
ahhhhh
also let me look for zmans example he showed it on belts iirc
my tmam really shows the issue tho.. what was once 100% throughput all the time jumps between sometimes less than 80 and 98%
sometimes itl say 92 and look like 100
its really odd
I will look into this when I get back on Monday.
results could be different now since this is pretty old build now but who knows
Changed it from Duplicate to needing more information.
I don't think so.
it was a build or two before dimensions idk if they changed it or not i never retested this on dimensions release
Was it always this way? Or did it act differently in earlier releases?
i assume it persists but it couldve been fixed lol
well before dimensions we only has 12 belt space belts
this bug came about when we got the 4x throughput i wanna say
for the space belt side of things anyways
so when there were tunnels it acted differently?
i cant say.. i never tried this splitting of belts pre dimension/4x throughput
I will see how it acts on monday with earlier versions
before dimensions there wasnt a reason to split off a spacebelt cause it was just the 12 belts yk
but now with 4x its kinda a must do thing and even more so with the new mode limiting throughputs
It would be nice to be able to avoid this:
in case readers can not see the post above:
Straight manifolds are working correctly (logically and like every other factory game out there). Please do not change this behaviour. Variable ratio belt splitters however would be most welcome.
You mean Configurable ? if so, i agree 😄
Yup, otherwise there would be too many variants.
The problem with making a straight manifold "smart" to distribute evenly you'd need a way to mark the start point and end points. Having each belt split be independent is the easiest way to do it. But doesn't preclude alternate (configurable) ratios.
