If you check the wire across the platform with =NULL, the results will change. NULL is entered for the wire. The wire is correctly detected in the foreground (bottom of the photo), but not in the background (top of the photo).

transmitter/reciever pairs act as a diode. you likely have something setting the wire to 0 on the reciever side.
