#this shouldnt be possible: ramp through lift

launched shapes not having collisions is a known issue and is likely to be reimplemented in the future
having shapes crash and trash the place would be funny. imagine there would be clean up crews, unlikely but funny thought
I think the lifts should be designed so that you can launch through them. Consider them to have collisions but the actual collisions are wider than the shape.
This would mean that you can not launch a shape under neath a perpendicular lift. If the lift and launcher are in parallel, they should allow “collision less”
could be an option to toggle at game creation
I was also a bit surprised that launchers could go through basically (literally?) anything, but after looking at the models a bit more closely I assumed it was intentional since it looks like there's gaps for the shapes to fit through
I think in the beta/alpha thing a year or two ago everything had collisions. I remember building a small complex factory using launchers and lifts, trying to make the most compact build and my shapes were hitting the underside of the belt floor above around the apex.
I think it’s cool to have collisions, but at the same time, I’d imagine being a “shape engineer” for a factory, the launchers and lifts should be “built”(by the hypothetical being/shapeGods) in a way that calculates collision-less maneuvers.
If people want a challenge with launchers, I think the devs should opt towards a launcher that has a dimension of 2x1 instead of 1x1
Or possibly a launcher that launches further (like 1.5x or 2x distance) and uses a larger 2x1 size launcher
the fact that launchers are fixed distance already provides a lot of interest. I am routinely shocked by what I can accomplish given that 80% of the time I wish the launcher would go one square further or one square shorter
