#What are Fluid Tanks for?

Common consensus is that they are completely useless.
they are there to take up space. That's it
can be useful in combination with trains over a super long distance, if you want to store more fluid while the trains are away
I'd just put more trains
its a bit cheaper to use fluid tanks instead
but yeah otherwise i havent seen any other purpose
I use them in recycle mixers
They can be used as a one way pipe
I believe they're also "low priority", which mean it can be used for "overflow gates" where paint only go one way it the other way is full.
kind of useful if youve built an entirely compact on-demand mixing station with valves and wire signals. since then it can hold some pre-mixed fluids while the mixers are 'spinning up' on the change over ... pretty negligable speed savings though. 🤷♂️
Shape storage buildings died so we could have paint storage. 🥲
